IIFT, TPCI Join Hands to Launch Certificate Program in Agriculture Import, Export Management; Details Here


Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) has recently collaborated with the commerce ministry’s Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) in order to offer various certificate programs in agriculture import and export management domains.

Under this collaboration, TPCI and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade will offer online courses in the agriculture import and export management field for a duration of six months to all interested and eligible candidates.

The course will include not only the theoretical applications of the domain but will include practical insights on different aspects of agriculture trading. The course’s main goal is to offer insight into market identification to procedural formalities for exports and imports to students. 

Students will learn about finance, regulatory clearances, logistics to the settlement of safe and secure payment from international buyers among other various concepts during the program commencement. 

Referring to the initiative, Manoj Pant, Vice-Chancellor, IIFT said, "To address some of the structural challenges and to tap available opportunities in the marketing of agricultural products, the institute is pleased to join hands with TPCI in offering this certificate program".

He further added that TPCI and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade's joint certificate program are specially designed to improve the skills of prospective agricultural traders. The program will help them gain useful information about their respective fields. 

The program will offer them with information and knowledge that will help them in building their international trade of agricultural products and will improvise their trading. 

Adding to the same, TPCI food and beverage sectoral committee Chairman, Vivek Agrawal stated that the TPCI and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade Program 2021 will benefit the budding agriculture entrepreneurs and managers in various initiatives like Agri Export Policy.

Despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the country has recorded over a 17.34 percent increase in the country’s agricultural exports. The export has reached $41.25 billion in 2020-21 in India.
