HBTU PhD Admission 2022 Open; Last Date to Apply is July 19

New Delhi: Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), Kanpur, has begun the application process for PhD Admission 2022-23. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, @www.hbtu.ac.in, by July 19, 2022. 

The PhD programme is offered by the School of Engineering, School of Chemical Technology, School of Basic & Applied Sciences, and School of Humanities & Social Sciences, of HBTU, Kanpur. Candidates seeking admission to the PhD programme can submit their applications till July 19, 2022.

Candidate's admission to the PhD programme will be based on their performance in the written examination, personal Interview, followed by the verification of documents

HBTU Kanpur PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Each department of HBTU has different eligibility criteria for admission to the PhD courses which is mentioned below. 

School of Engineering

• Candidates must hold a M. Tech. / M. E. degree in relevant specialisations with a minimum of 60 % marks or equivalent CGPA/CPI. or a B. Tech. degree with at least 75% marks with 2 years professional experience.
• Candidates holding an MCA degree with a minimum of 60 % marks or equivalent CGPA/CPI for MCA discipline are also eligible. 

School of Chemical Technology

• Candidates must hold an M. Tech. / M. E. degree in relevant discipline with a minimum of 60 % marks or equivalent CGPA /CPI. or a B. Tech. degree with at least 75% marks with 2 years professional experience. or
• Candidates should possess an M. Sc. degree with minimum 60% marks in Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry / Applied Chemistry / Bio Technology or equivalent degree. 

School of Basic & Applied Sciences

• Candidates holding an M. Sc. degree in relevant discipline with a minimum of 60 % marks or equivalent CGPA / CPI is eligible. 

School of Humanities & Social Sciences

• Candidates must hold a master’s degree in relevant specialisation/ subject with a minimum of 60 % marks or equivalent CGPA / CPI from a recognized university. 

HBTU Kanpur PhD Admission 2022: Selection Process

• Candidates will have to appear in Written Examination/ Interviews for Ph.D. admission.
• Candidates with a valid UGC-NET / CSIR-NET score card or those who have eligibility for UGC / CSIR Fellowship for PhD (Not for Lecturership) will be preferred over others for admission and will be exempted from appearing in the Written Examination. 
• However, they are required to appear for the interview round and document verification round. 

HBTU Kanpur PhD Admission 2022: Entrance Exam 

• Candidates will be required to qualify in Written Examination comprising Paper I & II.
• The Paper-I will have thrust on testing the skills of data interpretation, language proficiency, reasoning and logic design, research aptitude etc.
• However, the Paper-II shall be subject specific.
• Both the papers will contain multiple choice type questions (MCQs) 
• Candidates are required to obtain an aggregate of 50 percent marks or more in Paper I & II to be qualified for the interview round. 
• The weightage of entrance exam and interview is 70 percent and 30 percent. 

HBTU Kanpur PhD Admission 2022: How to Apply?

Step 1: Visit the official application portal of HBTU @hbtu.ac.in.

Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.

Step 3: Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.

Step 4: Pay the application fee of INR 2000 and submit the Application form. 

Step 5: Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.
