New Delhi: The GITAM School of Business has successfully concluded its placement season for the MBA programme for the academic session 2023-24, by recording a sharp increase in average salaries by 20%. 

This year, a total of 43 prominent companies attended the GITAM placement drive for MBA students at the Bangalore campus, while 22 of them visited the GITAM campuses in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.

According to GITAM Placement 2023 report, the "360-degree approach," which included activities to increase students' competence, was credited by university officials as the reason for the rise in employment. 

In addition, the sessions covered soft skills training, simulated group discussions (GDs) to promote position body language, mock interviews to get students ready for real interviews, resume-building sessions, and functional training by subject-matter experts tailored to the business, the GITAM statement said.

The institute statement revealed that the "Firms in spaces such as conglomerates, automobiles, energy, logistics, technology, telecommunications and media also made a sizable number of offers at the recently concluded placement drive for its 2023 MBA batches across all the three campuses- Bangalore, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad.

Some of the top recruiters include KPMG, Deloitte, Colgate, Palmolive, Accenture, Perfetti, Asian Paints, Reliance industries, Philips domestic appliances, MRF tyres, Ernst and Young, Emami, Factset, Bosch, HDFC life, TVS and federal bank

According to Amit Bhadra, dean of the GITAM school of business, the quality placement has been a strong component of GITAM's legacy along with quality education provided by world-class faculty and the best of the accreditations and affiliations. 

The school is noting a continuous rise in typical packages in addition to the obvious increase in the highest package. These two must be taken into account as one of the main signs when evaluating the calibre of a business school, Bhadra said.
