Life at IIT Goa: Campus, Hostel, Library, Social life

The facilities at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Goa aid in students' relaxation and keep them active through a variety of pursuits, enhancing their performance and advancing them to higher achievement. The IIT Goa campus is divided into many blocks according to departments like chemistry, physics, engineering, etc. Moreover, the college has a separate building with dorms for students. With two new buildings being built, there are currently more than 320 students living in more than two hostel buildings. For the amusement of the pupils, they also have a shared TV room.

IIT Bombay provides significant mentoring for IIT Goa, therefore its students take part in numerous groups and organize various councils under the direction of IIT Bombay alumni. The Dancing Club, Web Development Club, Hobbies Club, Photography Club, Economics Club, Debate Club, and many more clubs are organized by students and are considered facilities at IIT Goa. IIT Goa Library

In 2016, the Indian Institute of Technology Goa's Central Library opened its temporary doors at the Goa Engineering College Campus in Farmagudi, Ponda. It meets the vital and specific information needs of the Institute's faculty and students. A variety of books, including textbooks and reference books, are available at the Central Library. 

These books cover a range of subjects, including biology, chemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics, materials science, economics, linguistics, and more. Moreover, Central Library offers access to numerous renowned databases, e-books, and e-journals, and the collection is steadily growing in accordance with academic standards.

In addition to the rigorous academic requirements, IIT GOA provides students with numerous opportunities for social interaction and bonding with their cohort. IIT GOA is well-known for its yearly student initiatives and year-round events. Among the notable events are:

• Cepheus'23: Through Cepheus, IIT Goa hopes to portray the diverse nuances of Goa's rich and distinctive culture while simultaneously fostering technical spirit in the fest's many inventive and young participants.

IIT Goa Sports

The Sports Cell oversees the great sport and fitness culture of IIT Goa. IIT Goa takes part in a number of competitions throughout the year, including the Inter-IIT Sports Meet, Spree (BITS Goa), Avahan (IIT Bombay), and other regional competitions. In every competition we've entered, our athletes have performed admirably. In order to keep our athletes at the top of their game, IIT Goa also has a gym that is fully operational and an athletic track. Every sport has a club, and anyone who wants to join will receive coaching, access to equipment, and the chance to work on their game in order to get on the squad for the institute.

IIT Goa also hosts an intra-institute sports festival each year. It is a 4-day fiesta in which UG, PG, staff, and faculty will take part. It offers a common stage on which everyone can display their abilities.
