National Institute of Homeopathy BHMS Admission 2015 Notification

Admission to BHMS Course Session 2015-16:

Applications are invited for Admission to 5½ yrs. BHMS Degree Course in Homoeopathy (including one year compulsory Rotatory Internship) at National Institute of Homoeopathy (NIH), Kolkata for the academic year 2015-2016.

NIH is affiliated to The West Bengal University of Health Sciences, Kolkata. It is an Autonomous institute organisation under Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India).

Application form can be downloaded from the Institute website. Photocopy of the downloaded form will be accepted. Applications are written on three A4 size papers (two pages for the application proforma and one page for the identification card).

Note: Admission to BHMS Course Session 2015-16 shall be made only after receiving necessary approval from Central Council of Homoeopathy and Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.

Important Dates for BHMS 2015 at NIH, Kolkata:

Eligibility for BHMS 2015 in National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata:

• Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination with these subjects including Physics, Biology, English and Chemistry are eligible to apply.
• Applicants must have passed all the above subjects individually and must obtained minimum 50% marks in aggregate (Relaxation By 5% for SC/ST candidates).
• For the candidates who have appeared for Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination, candidature will be taken into consideration provided that the result of that examination is published before the admission and they have secured the required percentage of marks which has to be substantiated by production of documentary proof.

Note: Blind (including colour blind), deaf, and/or dumb candidates are not eligible to apply for the course.

 Age Limit:

• To be eligible for the all India common admission test, the candidate age should be 17 years but not more than 25 years as on by 31st December, 2015.
• If the candidate was born on or before 31st December, 1990 or after 1st January, 1999 they are not eligible.

Application Form in BHMS 2015 at National Institute of Homoeopathy:

• Filled in application (in candidate's own handwriting) is to be sent along with Bank draft for Rs.500/- (Rs five hundred only) in favour of Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, payable at Kolkata (IPO/ Cheque/ Cash/Money order will not be accepted)
• If candidate from SC/ST category, he/she will not require to send Bank draft but a copy of caste certificate attested by a Gazetted Officer should accompany the application
• If Candidates from reserved category and claim reservation they must submit self-attested copy of Caste Certificate along with the filled in application form.
• Enclose recent, high contrast 3.5cmx4.5cm identical copies of colour photograph, clearly showing full head, face, shoulders and both ears without wearing any cap/hat/sunglasses with application form.
• Both the photographs must be signed on the reverse by the candidate.
• Polaroid photo is not acceptable. Photograph must have been taken on or after 28th February, 2015 with a placard indicating the name of the candidate and the date of taking the photograph.
• The name and date of the photograph must be clear and legible
• Two copies of the photographs are to be pasted on the specified area on the application, which should be attested by a Gazetted Officer after pasting with part of signature on the photograph and part of signature on the application form.
• Other 02 un pasted photo should be signed on the reverse by the candidate

Important Notes:

• Incomplete applications form and/or accompanied by hazy, old or unidentifiable photographs are liable to be rejected without assigning any reason
• Candidates must put their full signature in all the places asked for at all the stages of admission process
• Candidates need not send the photo copies of testimonials with application (except attested copy of caste certificate in case of SC/ST candidates claiming exemption from paying application fee) and OBC/ Orthopaedically Handicapped claiming for reservation in admission, but the original caste certificate must be submitted for verification if provisionally selected
• Money once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances
• Incomplete/illegible application, application not accompanied by the necessary enclosures etc will be summarily rejected

The duly filled in application should reach the office of the Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, Block-GE, Sector-III, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700106 on or before 19th May 2015

Admission Test Center: The All India Admission Test will be held at seven centres New Delhi, Kolkata, Bhopal, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Thiruvanthapuram.

Selection for BHMS 2015 at NIH, Kolkata:

In this academic year 93 (ninety three) seats shall be available for admission to the BHMS Degree Course, out of this following seats are earmarked for different categories of candidates.

(i)Fourteen (14) seats are earmarked for the candidates nominated from the following States/Union Territories:

Number of seats are earmarked for States/Union Territories may vary as per the Govt. of India orders prevalent at the time of admission.

(ii)Six (06) seats are earmarked for Foreign Nationals out of which Five (05) seats are earmarked for candidates from Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi Sectoral Technical & Economic Co-operation (BIMSTEC) countries nominated by Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, Azad Bhavan, Indraprastha Estate, New Delhi and One (01) seat is reserved for Foreign National candidates under self-financing scheme nominated by the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.

(iii) Ten (10) seats are earmarked for candidates sponsored by Govt. of Sri Lanka through the Dept. of AYUSH, Govt. of India. If the scheduled numbers of candidates are not sponsored by Govt. of Sri Lanka, those seats shall remain vacant; these seats will not be admitted by any other candidate.

(iv) Two (02) seats are reserved for candidates from Malaysia as per directive of Govt.of India.

(v) The remaining seats will be filled up through All-India Admission Test.

Reservation for BHMS 2015 in National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata:

• If candidates belonging to Orthopaedically Challenged (locomotor disability involving the lower limb) then Reservation shall be applicable as per the Govt. of India norms to the remaining seats.
• Candidates who are desirous of availing reservation facilities under OBC quota are required to enclose self-attested copy of their OBC certificate issued by appropriate authority along with a declaration that she/he does not belong to creamy layer of the society. National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata BHMS 2015 Admit Card:

Admit Card and prospectus will be sent by post and list of candidates with their roll numbers and centres will also be available in the National Institute of Homoeopathy website http://www.nih.nic.in

List of eligible candidates/their roll numbers/name of allotted center for the All India Admission Test, Result of admission test, List of candidates eligible for counselling/date of counselling and venue etc. will be available on the Institute website earlier.

National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata BHMS 2015 Exam Pattern:

The pattern of questions will be of multiple choice types and each correct answer will carry one mark. There will be one negative mark for each wrong answer. Answer sheet will be on OMR sheet.
