University of Kerala was founded as the University of Travancore is one of the 16 universities in India. The Institute of Distance Education (IDE), was established in 1976 as a teaching and research department of the University of Kerala, is one of the pioneering Centre of distance learning in the state. The institute was founded with the main motive is to promote career advancement and providing the quality education to the disadvantaged sections.

Kerala University Distance Education BA 2015 Eligibility:

B.A. Candidates seeking admission to the B.A. Degree Programmes should have passed the Pre-degree examination of the University of Kerala/Higher Secondary/VHSE/AISSCE/ ISE examination with any subject or any examination accepted by the Academic Council as equivalent thereto

How to Apply for Kerala University Distance Education BA 2015:

• You will have to remit the cost of Application form and Prospectus (Rs. 250/-) before submitting on-line Application.
• Students desirous of seeking admission shall apply through on-line only. On-line registration facility for admission is provided Log on to ideku.net.
• Then Click the button 'Apply On-line' and select the course of study of your choice
• Fill in the online form and after submitted the application form take a print out of the acknowledgement.
• Send the acknowledgement with fee.

Admission to SC/ST/OBC: Students belonging to SC/ST Category will be admitted in the IDE without remitting the tuition fee at the time of admission. But they have to remit all other special fee like Admission Fee, Affiliation Fee, etc.

Payment of Registration fee:

• Fees shall be remitted by Demand Drafts, drawn from any SBT/District Co-Operative Banks in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
• Students residing outside the state of Kerala can draw their DDs from SBI in favour ofThe Finance Officer, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram payable at Thiruvananthapuram. 
• Overseas students can draw their DDs from any nationalized banks in favour ofThe Finance Officer, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
• Fee once remitted shall not be refunded.

Note: Candidates residing in a foreign country have to submit a DD for Rs. 200/- in addition. Each Bank Draft Amount should carry an additional amount of Rs. 10/- as service charge.
