Kerala University PG Admissions 2015 – Apply Online

Kerala University was established in 1937. It is accredited with 'B++ Grade' by NAAC and recognised by UGC. At present, the University has 16 faculties and 41 departments of teaching & research in addition to study centres and other departments. They primarily focus on post-graduate (masters) programs, MPhil programs (1-year research degree) and doctoral research.

The Kerala University will be inviting applications very shortly from keen applicants who are willing to take admissions in its new academic year 2015-16 for various Post Graduate programmes.

Application Process

  1. Online Registration

Candidates applying for PG courses have to register themselves from university website or at the given link – http://admissions.keralauniversity.ac.in

  1. Registration Fee

General candidates have to pay 250/- Rs while SC/ST candidates have to pay 100/- Rs as a registration fees. It can be remitted in any branch of 'State Bank of Travancore' using the downloaded Chelan.

After completing registration and payment of fees, take a print out of this completed online application form and send it to the University's address along with other documents in support of your application form before the scheduled last dates of submission of application.

Reservations

Apart from the merit seats, the seats earmarked for SC/ST candidates in Government/ Aided/ Self-financing Colleges will be filled by the University. In addition to this, SEBC seats in Government /Self-financing colleges also will be filled by the University.

Seats will be reserved for the following categories in Govt., Aided & Self- financing Affiliated Colleges for various Post Graduate Programmes.

(a) Reservation for Nominees – Nearly 5 % seats are reserved for candidates from Jammu & Kashmir, Union Territory of Lakshadweep, Kashmiri Migrants, Inmates of Govt. Children Homes, Tamil Linguistic Minority and Wards of Armed Force Personnel.

(b) Reservation for Persons with Disabilities – 3% of the total seats will be set apart exclusively for Physically Handicapped candidates in Government Colleges.

(c) Special Reservation – At least one seat shall be reserved for Sports candidates in each subject for the Post Graduate Programme.

Admission Procedure

The admission of deserving and eligible applicants will be based on the Entrance exam and attainment of marks in their previous exams. Also the weightage of the both exams is set to 50-50%. Therefore candidates, who do not satisfy either of these parameters, will be disqualified from admissions.

Programme Offered

From the academic year 2012-2013 onwards, the admissions to the Post Graduate Programme under Choice Based Credit & Semester system  in the Arts & Science Colleges affiliated to University of Kerala and Centres of University were made on the basis of Online Centralized Allotment.

5. Master in Communication & Journalism (M.C.J.) Candidate should have passed Graduation degree in any discipline with Arts' score 50% and Science' 55% during Part III.
6. Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) Candidate should have passed Bachelor's degree in any of these: Science, BBA, Commerce, Law, Social Science, or BSW.
7. Master of Computer Application (M.C.A.) Candidate should have passed with 50% marks in any recognised regular Bachelor's Degree course of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level.

 

Exam Centres

The University Examinations are conducted in more than 250 affiliated colleges spread in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha and some parts of Pathanamthitta Districts. The university website provides a single window online facility for every candidate of the University for pre examinations enrollment, registration to University examinations and getting the scores in the examinations.

Result

All the results for PG admissions through University Entrance Examination would be published in University Website.

Score Card

Once the result is published, the candidates can download their score card after logging in by submitting the Registration ID & Date of Birth at the admission section of University Website.

Counselling

  1. Processing of options and allotments:Before the allotment, the accepted personal and academic data and reservation claims will be published in the website for verification by the candidate.
  2. Trial Allotment:A trial allotment will be conducted to give an idea about the chances of getting allotment to a programme and college, based on the options registered and the rank of the candidate. The trial allotment does not guarantee the candidate, a seat in a college or a programme.
  3. First Allotment: After the trial allotment and the period earmarked for revising options, the first allotment list will be published in the website http://admissions.keralauniversity.ac.in on the date to be notified. The allotment list will show the personal details, the college and the programme to which the candidate is allotted to and the fee to be remitted. 

Post Allotment Activities —

Reporting at the College: Candidates who get allotment will have to report before the Principal/Head of the College/Institution concerned for admission on the dates notified, with the following documents:

a) Print out of completedonlineapplication generated by the Candidate

b) Fee receipt (Original copy) towards Registration fee

c) Allotment Memo (Latest)

d) Original Marksheet of the qualifyingexamination

e) Fee Receipt (Original Copy) towards special fee affiliation, matriculation, recognition, eligibility fee

i) Original Community Certificate/BPL Certificate

k) Original certificates to prove the claim for grace marks, if any
