New Delhi: Delhi University has formed a 7 member committee to draft policy guidelines for the Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) for the academic session of 2022-23. As per the official statement, Professor Alka Nagpal, Dean, Faculty of Music and Fine Arts has been appointed as the Chairperson of the committee.

Dr. Deepti Taneja, Joint Dean, Cultural Council Office, has been selected as the Convener and Member Secretary. Anoop Lather, Advisor, Cultural Council, has been selected for the role of the advisor to the DU committee. For the last two years, ECA trials have not been conducted due to the disastrous impact of the COVID 19 pandemic.
With the drafting of the new committee for ECA trials, DU also has altered its admission procedure from the current academic year.
As per the UGC guidelines, DU Admissions 2022 is to be conducted through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) from this academic year. Not just DU, CUET has been made compulsory for all the 45 central universities from this year.

This year, as per UGC, DU has decided to replace the earlier inclusion of the cut-off model which was based on the marks received at the Class 12 Exam. DU Executive Council has decided to accept CUET 2022 score for the admission to UG courses. Candidates, however, need to pass the Class 12 exam to be eligible for admission to the varsity’s UG programmes.

About CUET
The CUET (Common University Entrance Test) is the sole examination that will determine the admission to all 45 central universities, as per the UGC guidelines. The main purpose of the exam is to reduce the burden of the students to some extent. This way, students only have to appear for this common test while seeking admission to the UG programmes. As per this, Class 12 marks will have no weightage in determining the admission.
The CUET Application form 2022 for the UG programmes has been released on cuet.samarth.ac.in. Candidates must fill the form latest by April 30. The exam is supposed to be conducted during the first week of July. The exam will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift includes one language test, two area specific papers and a general test.
