Students who have not been able to secure admission even in re-allotments under the first round of counselling in the professional courses offered by the teaching departments of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) may still have the opportunity to secure a place in the second round of counselling.
The first round of online counselling for nearly 2,400 seats is still underway. As of now, almost 850 seats were filled in the first allotment.
The Admission Committee stated that almost 850 seats had been filled in the first allotment and that almost 900 seats were likely to be filled in the re-allotments made after the upgrade.
"Since there are nearly 2400 vacancies in 37 courses under the Common Admission Procedure (CAP), more than 600 seats will remain vacant," said the member of the committee, wishing anonymity.
This year the Common Entrance Test (CET) could not be held due to the situation of COVID-19 so that the university has taken professional courses under the CAP and is currently granting admissions.
The first round of online counselling for nearly 2,400 seats is underway. Almost 850 seats have been filled in the first allotment. As most of the students who were allocated seats went for an upgrade because they had not been admitted to the courses of their choice, the university conducted re-allotment on Thursday.
Students who have been re-allocated will be required to submit a fee for confirmation of admission by 20 October.
On 22 October, the university would upload the list of vacant seats. The second round of counselling will begin on 23 October.
Nearly 10,000 students applied for admission to 37 CAP courses. Departments participating in the CAP include the School of Law, the Institute of Management Studies, the Educational Multimedia Research Centre, the School of Commerce, the School of Data Science and Forecasting, the School of Economics, the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, the School of Pharmacy and the International Institute of Professional Studies.
