CLAT 2020: Post Exam Timelines Announced; Check Dates for Answer Key (Released), Result and Counselling


The Consortium National Law Universities (CNLU), the governing body of CLAT has released the post-exam calendar for CLAT 2020. The exam is scheduled on September 28 and the answer key has now been released. Students can raise the objections, if any, till September 29.

CLAT 2020 had been postponed several times in the wake of COVID-19, however, now the authority is moving at a fast pace to avoid any further delay for the law aspirants.

Candidates who are going to appear for CLAT 2020 should be aware of the important dates of the exam from the release of the answer key till the admission is done.

What after CLAT 2020 Answer Key is Released?

After the release of the CLAT 2020 Answer Key, candidates will be given time to raise objections, if any, from September 28 to 29 (till midnight).

The objection should be sent with proof and fee. If the objection raised is accepted by the authorities, it will be concluded in the final answer key and the changes will be made in the CLAT Result 2020.

The final answer key will be released on October 3, 2020.

CLAT 2020: Result & Counselling

NLU will announce the results with All India Rank (AIR) and category-wise merit list. CLAT 2020 Counselling will be done based on the merit list.

Candidates will have to select their choice of college and course in the counselling process, thereafter based on the merit list and choice made, seats will be allotted to the candidates. 

Candidates will have to pay INR 50,000 as a counselling fee which will be later adjusted in the fee payable to the University.

CLAT Counselling 2020 Procedure

The CLAT 2020 counselling registration process will start on October 6.

Following the declaration of the CLAT 2020 outcome on October 5, the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi, will begin the CLAT 2020 counselling process.

In each category, the NLU Consortium will invite three times the number of candidates for the available seats in CLAT Counseling 2020.

The CLAT 2020 counselling call letters or CLAT invitation letters will be sent individually to the qualifying candidates by the NLU consortium.

CLAT 2020 counselling call letter recipients will need to be registered, pay the counselling fee, select NLUs in the order of preference, and pay the admission fee for counselling and NLU.

On October 9, the 1st CLAT 2020 seat allotment list will be released.

The candidate can accept/lock the seat, apply for an upgrade or exit the CLAT 2020 admission process soon after the seat allotment.

At the time of registration, the allotment of seats will be based and preferences entered.

The seat allocation will be made on the basis of the preferences entered by the applicant at the time of registration and the candidate's rank of merit in CLAT 2020.

On October 11 and 14, respectively, the second and third allotment lists will be published.

CLAT Counselling 2020: How to Apply

To participate in CLAT Counselling 2020, candidates should follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of CLAT Counselling 2020 @clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in

Step 2: Enter credentials for login

Step 3:Click the tab for 'Counselling'

Step 4: Look for  indicative allotment list

Step 5: The amount can be deposited as a counselling fee by applicants whose names appear on the list

Step 6: Select the 'Seat Lock' option against the allocated NLU option.

Step 7: For future references, save a copy of the allotment list
