Calcutta University PhD Museology Admission 2022 Open till April 18, Entrance Test on April 29

New Delhi: Calcutta University PhD Museology Admission 2022 has begun for the session 2022-23. The Department of Museology, University of Calcutta has opened the registration window for PhD. Interested candidates can apply online till April 18, 2022. 

For admission into Ph.D.in Museology at Calcutta University, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of performance in the entrance test and personal interview. The entrance test will be conducted in physical mode on April 29, 2022.

Calcutta University PhD Museology Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

• Master’s degree in Museology with 55% marks/ ‘B’ grade in UGC 10 point scale/ equivalent grade in aggregate 
• 5% relaxation in marks for candidates belonging to the SC/ ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-abled categories and the candidates obtained their Master’s degree prior to September 19, 1991.
• Master’s degree holders in other relevant subjects or BE/ BTech/ MBBS degree holders may also apply subject to fulfilment of the Clauses 5.3 and 6.4 of the University of Calcutta (Regulation for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D.) Regulations 2016
• Candidates having degrees from other Universities and foreign students need equivalence/ clearance certificates from the competent authorities as laid down in the Ph.D. Regulations 2016 (Clauses 5.1A and 5.1B)

Calcutta University PhD Museology Admission 2022: Selection Process

• Selection of candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria would be carried out through an Entrance Test consisting of a written exam and interview.
• Qualifying marks for Entrance Test will be 50%
• Candidates passing the written exam will be called for in interview
• Candidates who have already passed UGC NET / SET/ SLET/ GATE/ MPhil/ MTech/ ME/MD examinations/ obtained DST-INSPIRE Fellowship or under Teacher Fellowship can directly appear in the interview skipping the written examination
• Candidates have to furnish a Research Proposal of no more than 500 words or two A4 size papers at the interview. 
• Final selection will be done on the basis of performance at the interview
