What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Working constantly for upliftment”

The principal reasons to stay connected with the education sector have been wide-ranging like interest to work in the education sector, and to get an opportunity and work on shortcomings of the education sector. It really motivates me to prepare students for effective lawyering through blending of practical legal skills with skills of other disciplines like psychology and sociology etc. in the college.

How would you describe your leadership style?

“Teamwork above all”

A person cannot become a good leader just by possessing all the qualities of a good leader. We need proper teamwork and a working environment to become an immaculate leader in any field. In addition, a free hand to execute plans makes a person a good leader in any institution. I would describe my leadership style as straight and direct and leading by example. I like to stay involved with my staff in all academic and administrative responsibilities and work. I inspire and reward them to accomplish given assignments and I stood with them through thick and thin.

How do you strategize the key plans for the marketing of your school?

“Designing, supervising and directing policies”

We have a proper marketing team in the institution. We all sit together to formulate policies and strategies relating to the marketing. We remain in touch with admission consultants working throughout the country on latest updates. We participate in education fairs to recruit students. In addition, students in coaching centres, schools and colleges are contacted personally by our marketing teams. The team members talk to students and counsel them about the avenues in laws and convince them to seek admissions in our institution.

What can an inbound student gain from studying here in your school?

“A universal exposure and learning”

In our school, we always try to give more practical legal skills to students. Students are given exposure through moot court competitions, seminars, debates, essay competitions, legal aid clinics and mock parliaments etc. In our institute, we are also teaching various national and international laws subjects. And in my experience, incoming students in our institute should have no problem working as legal professionals in any country despite having a different structure of education systems. The curriculum of the institution has been prepared keeping in view the needs of industries. Labour and industrial laws; banking and insurance laws, consumers laws, intellectual property laws are also taught in the institution and subsequent internships in these areas in various industries and institutions make students suitable to work in any industry.

How is your school more welcoming to students of diverse backgrounds?

“Social schemes and open learning environment”

We welcome students of different races and economic backgrounds in our school. No discrimination is being made with any students on grounds of race, religion, caste, sex and place of birth etc. Students belonging to SC/ST categories and minorities who are economically backward are given relaxation in fees and other charges of the institution. Irrespective of any discrimination, the institution also provides assistance to students in completing loan documentation when students avail loan for studies from any bank. Some of the students are getting scholarships from the various government schemes to study in our institution as well.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the students are?

“Guiding and offering a good learning approach”

Holding the top position of Principal in the institution, my roles and responsibilities are vital in all round personality development of the students. I resolve the academic and non-academic problems of students as their motivator, guide and friend. Besides, the students are regularly mentored and counselled for their holistic development. I have multiple roles to comply with rules, regulations and procedure of the institution for a good learning culture. It is my duty to lead the institution towards academic excellence by maintaining a positive and safe learning environment in the institution.

What do you think should be the School’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“Educating more, awaring more”

To pursue higher education, to engage students in more socially productive activities, to prepare them as good legal professionals, to recruit good staff of teachers and to update and review curriculum regularly keeping in view the employment perspective of the students will be the top priorities of the institute over the next 10 years. Besides, more legal aid camps would be organised in schools, industrial and slums areas, to make students, workers and poor people aware about laws and their rights. Making weaker segments of the Indian population aware about laws and their rights, we can minimise their exploitation.
