Mr. Sushant Arya has been working as the Founder and Director of Dehradun College of Art, Dehradun, Uttarakhand for the last 9 years. He is a committed and fine Artist delivering Visual Art education in the region of drawing and painting for the last 17 years. He has done BA and BFA in painting and MFA also in painting as part of his academics.

Our college curriculum is designed to ensure that our students get the best possible education in the art industry. We strive to provide our students with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their chosen field, whether it be illustration, animation, graphic design, or any other creative discipline. Our courses are regularly updated to reflect current trends and industry best practices, so that our students can stay ahead of the curve and remain competitive in their respective fields. Through a combination of theoretical learning and practical application, we believe that our curriculum will give our students a strong foundation for success in the art industry.

What are your roles and responsibilities for the college and students?

As a teacher of fine art students, I have the responsibility to ensure that my students are given the best possible education and guidance. My role is to provide them with the necessary knowledge and skills to become successful artists. I am also responsible for helping them develop their creative skills, providing feedback on their artwork, and encouraging them to explore different techniques and approaches. Additionally, I strive to create a safe learning environment where my students can express themselves freely without fear of judgment or criticism. Ultimately, my goal is to help each student reach their full potential as an artist.

What do you think should be the College’s top priority over the next 10 years?

As the director of a fine art college, I believe that our top priority over the next 10 years should be to ensure that our students are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their respective fields. This means providing them with access to quality education, resources, and mentorships. We must also focus on developing and maintaining strong relationships with industry professionals so that our students can gain real-world experience while still in school. By taking these steps, we can ensure that our graduates are well-prepared for the future of fine art.

As a director of a fine art college, I have seen the potential that the current youth and aspiring students have. They have the passion, talent and ambition to create something unique and meaningful. 

My suggestion to them is to take advantage of the resources available to them. They should explore their creative side by attending workshops and classes offered at our college. They should also use online tools such as tutorials, blogs, podcasts and videos to learn more about their craft. By doing so, they will gain an in-depth understanding of their chosen field and develop skills that will help them stand out in their career. With the right guidance, they can become successful professionals in the field of fine art.

I believe that the current youth and aspiring students should be encouraged to pursue their creative dreams. Artistic expression is an important part of personal growth and development, and it allows us to explore our innermost thoughts and feelings. Fine art colleges offer a unique opportunity for students to explore their creativity in an environment where they can receive guidance from experienced professionals.
