What are the key factors that keep you connected with the various sectors?

“Life long learning”

My experience and exposure to various industries and domains over the years have taught me various things and have simultaneously kept me attached to the education sector. As I started my corporate life as a consultant, this job always allowed me to use my skills to visualize the big picture. In my view, Consulting is the essential component of a professional's life that keeps one abreast with what is new in your field. Next, working as a CEO and MD for various organizations, I got the opportunity to use all my leadership and managerial skills, because I had to build everything from scratch. And challenges and opportunities that this role offered to me every day have helped me to grow on both personal as well as professional levels.

What is your leadership philosophy?

“Leadership is not about control but about influencing others”

I believe in the concept of transformational leadership, which involves setting up realistic goals and visualization before actual implementation. In order to be a transformational leader, you should be capable enough to motivate, guide and support your team in every possible way. From experience I realize that the team members, once inspired, will take the lead and go beyond their self-interest and work passionately towards achieving a collective goal.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general?

“Lack of space for research and innovation”

In my opinion, there are multiple issues in the path of higher education, because higher education is far too compliance and conformity oriented, and this leaves too little space for innovative methods of pedagogy and learning. And we are not focusing much on generating out-of-box ideas. As a result, students like to stay in their comfort zone and learning becomes boring for them.

What is the college’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“To be the best institute of our domain”

We thrive to become one of the top institutions in our respective categories and also want to stand apart through our distinctive and thoughtful leadership.

What was your vision for the university?

“To help the college meet its goals through my guidance and support”

When I joined this college, my vision was to use my previous experiences and skills in the best possible way to bring the best business value to the college. And for this, I was determined enough to provide the best quality education to our students through the latest program, training and placement opportunities.

Any suggestions which you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

“Learn new skills and be resilient enough to handle every kind of failure”

I believe this is a great time to be due to the explosion of technological developments and the pace at which human life is impacted by it. In this digital world of the 21st century, the illiterate will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn. Hence, I would suggest all young minds and my dear students focus on how to learn new things be it gadgets, technology, theory or whatever.
