What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Shaping ideals and serving nation”

Education is the only tool that can change society as a whole for the better. Education enables us to differentiate between right and wrong, or should I say, at least provide us with knowledge which in turn can help us shape our decisions. Education is ever evolving and it’s exciting to be part of an industry which has the power to do so much good for our country.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities towards the students are?

“Providing employability and wider approaches of learning in life”

In my mind there is no distinction between my students and who we are, as an institute. Therefore, my goal has always been to ensure that the education we provide makes our students employable in today’s market. Thus, we constantly adapt to the new technology and software being used in our industry. We create our syllabus to ensure that our students are taught as if they are working in the practical world where they will eventually end up after finishing their course. Secondly, we ensure that all our students understand that learning is not only about attending classes and submitting projects. It should be a holistic approach where the students should have fun. We help them kickstart their self-learning process so that even after they leave us, they know how to keep evolving for the rest of their life.

What do you see as Hi-Tech’s greatest strengths?

“Broader network of professionals and affordable education for all”

Hi-Tech Animation is an institute that promotes professional and job-oriented courses at affordable rates. We believe that education should be designed in such a way that our students become employable resources. Our biggest strength is the people who work for us and our students who trust us with their future. They have helped us grow from a 200 strong team to a team of 1200+ artists, making us the largest animation production house in Eastern India. They have also helped us create our own Bengali edutainment channel “Moople TV” and the vernacular app “Tutopia” which is designed to provide education to the students of West Bengal

Our faculty have prior production house experience which makes them very good at teaching the industry requirements. Also, we work for national and international clients like Sony, Nick, Pogo, ABP Ananda to name a few which has helped us understand the industry requirement and therefore our syllabus is tailored accordingly.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education?

“Cost-effectiveness and extensive practical based learning”

Higher education’s biggest challenge today is figuring out how to make their courses more practical and applicable in the real world instead of being theory intensive. Dearth of professional courses being offered by our Universities also needs to be addressed. At Hi-Tech Animation, our biggest challenge is to find ways where we can continue to provide affordable education while keeping up with the latest technology and software advancements, which are often cost intensive. Our focus on quality poses us the challenge of managing our costs.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth?

“Follow your passion and work hard”

I strongly believe that if you do what you love, money will follow. I often see youth trying to follow a career path which others have chosen and have found success in, but which might not lead them to success. Also, don’t rely on luck since you cannot control it. Those who work hard usually tend to be lucky too. Choose a career path of your choice and passion, and work hard and I’m positive luck will favour you.

How do you tend to establish a healthy environment in your institute?

“It is essential that everyone is comfortable at work”

We have built a family at work. We spend more hours at work than in the house or with friends. Therefore, the work environment should be such that everyone feels comfortable doing their jobs.
