Mr. Esakkimuthu V has been working as the Head of Mechanical Engineering Department at The Indian Polytechnic College, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. He has done Diploma and Graduation in Mechanical Engineering and Masters in ME-CAD. He is fluent in both English and Tamil language. His hobbies include books reading, games and internet surfing.

What will you say are the best practices of the courses which you are offering in your institute?

We make sure that whatever activities are organized in the college, all of them should be relevant and should be in line with industry standards. And we have one flagship program called talent search programs which are frequently conducted at departmental level in our college to enrich students' knowledge and help them learn new things.

"By conducting lots of experiments to strengthen subject knowledge in students"

I believe when you explain any concept to students by showing its demo, that thing stays for a long time in their mind. Recognizing the same need, we provide hands-on training to students for whatever topics they want to learn in more depth or face difficulty with. We have good quality labs to conduct these practical experiments. 

How do you strategize and update the curriculum to make it befitting for the students?

"It is updated after deep conversation with industry experts and faculty to include necessary changes"

We draft and update our curriculum in line with industry demands and development, after rigorous consultation and analysis with the industry experts, academicians and board members. The courses that we offer are based on the finest industry practices.

How does your department prepare students for placement and higher education?

In addition to this, we teach them using the best methodologies and also encourage them to complete tasks before the deadline to make them strengthened enough to work in a pressurized environment.

When you joined this college, what was your vision for it and how are you trying to achieve the same?

"To produce best professionals, future leaders and entrepreneurs from our students"

I joined this institute in 2010 and my vision at that time was to create the best talents by giving finest quality education and amenities to our students so that they can contribute to the growth of society. And for the past 12 years I didn't divert myself from achieving this goal and everyday we work really hard to get one step closer to achieve it.
