Which latest program are you offering in your department to help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

"We are offering a 3-year undergraduate program namely B.Com Professional Accounting"

We are offering B.Com. in Professional Accounting that deals with the study of economics, marketing, management, accounting and financial matters. Our main objective behind introducing this course to our curriculum is to train our students and strengthen their practical and theoretical knowledge related to financial analysis, creative thinking, good communication and interpersonal skills, good mathematical skills and account knowledge.

Which factors make this program best for the students to opt for?

"It provides the best quality financial and accounting knowledge to students to pursue other professional courses"

This course offers all kinds of content and knowledge to our students which they may need to proceed for programs like the Cost Management Accounting, Chartered Accountancy and Company Secretary (Foundation, Executive and Professional level), etc. And after acquiring the required skill set through this B.Com degree course, they can also pursue other professional courses in parallel.

What would you say are the best practices of this course?

"This program is a blend of field visits, mini-major projects and apprenticeship"

We encourage our students to do internships where they can use their existing knowledge and learn new things if required. And to directly expose them to the real-world scenarios, we take them for regular field visits and work. Lastly, to reinforce the domain knowledge and assess students, mini and major projects are assigned to them on a regular basis.

How does this program ensure the future preparedness of students?

"We regularly conduct events like guest lectures, presentations and budget talks"

Apart from imparting conceptual knowledge in Accounting, Auditing and Taxation, we also conduct real-time assignments, demonstrations, budget talks, seminars on implementation and amendments of GST, and cryptocurrency, etc. for our students who all are pursuing the course of B.Com (Professional Accounting) to discuss and deliberate their knowledge on the current trends.

How did you train your faculty to deliver this program to the students in the best possible way?

"We train them using industry immersion programs, seminars, workshops and FDPs as well"

Faculty members are encouraged to undergo industry immersion programs to keep themselves updated about contemporary issues and developments in the field of Accounting. We also organize international and national level conferences, workshops and faculty development programs where we invite renowned industry experts to share their experiences and expectations with us. Lastly, we send our faculty to take part in programs like paper presentations, organized by other colleges to give them exposure to the outside world.

How do you build an industry connectedness with this program?

"To bring the best industrial exposure for students, we have signed MOUs with our industry partners"

Our institute has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with leading industries to bridge the gap between industry expectations and academia. These MOUs not only help us to introduce new programs in our curriculum for the benefit of students but also help us in discarding old programs which are not needed anymore. Hence, certificate courses in Data Analytics, MS Excel and Capital Markets, etc. and employability skill development programs are offered to our students in collaboration with our industry partners. We also have an Industry Advisory Board formed of industry experts who deliver talks on contemporary trends, conduct hands-on workshops and live demonstrations, etc. through direct interaction with students.

Which benefits and career options are available for students after pursuing this course?

"Abundant career options are available in domains like investment banking, management and consultation"

Any valuable advice would you like to give to the students to have a prosperous career ahead?

"Acquire new skills, work on your weaknesses and be agile towards new environments"

I would like to advise my students to first identify their areas of interest, to work on their strengths, seek opportunities and challenges during their study period. Because your hardware, dedication and perseverance will help you to achieve your goals and college experiences teach the best life lessons. Be agile and adaptable to new environments, because you will face different kinds of hurdles in the real world, and if you have all these qualities, it will be easy for you to secure a good career.
