Prof. (Dr.) Upama Misra is currently designated as the Director General of Ambekeshwar Group of Institutions, Lucknow. She holds a brilliant academic record, having done her Masters from the University of Albert, Canada. She was the founder of Faculty of Pharmacy Intergral University, Lucknow, Sagar Institute of Technology & Management & Seth Vishambhar Nath Group of Institutions & BNCET, Lucknow.

With this, Dr. Misra has published many research papers in International and National journals of repute. She has also guided various students for M.Pharm, M.Tech & Ph.D. Degrees. She is a recipient of Congress Award for Best Research in Montreal Canada.

Dr. Misra’s experience of working in the Education Industry

For me, this industry is one of the best industries to work in. Imparting quality education and helping students to achieve their goals has been my primary goal and passion. However, people and students are misguided by liasoners. And because of this, the industry is starting to lose its charm as well.

Perform or perish - The new mantra

My style of leadership is maintaining a certain decorum and ethics in the functioning of an organisation. For me, performance matters the most as I follow an ideology of performing or perish. I also believe in transparency in everything I do and expect the same from others.

Partiality or unfair bias is something I cannot stand. I maintain a balance between practicality, emotions, and compassion, which benefits the employees and the organisation in the longer run.

Amalgamating skills with industrial exposure

I have a proven track record of almost thirty years as I was a founder member of Integral University, Sagar Group, Seth Vishambhar Nath and BNCET which rose to greater heights during my tenure. With this experience, in Ambekeshwar Group of Institutions, we are going to impart sound knowledge with proper skills. These skill sets will enable students to get a good job, proper technical training and grooming sessions. We aim at helping students with the skills that will give them experience as well as the industrial exposure.

Hurdles faced as the Director of AGI

Admissions have been one of the biggest hurdles. This is mainly because AGI is a new college and many people are not aware of it. However, with each passing day we are moving toward our goals and helping to take the institution to greater heights.

Dr. Misra on time management

With twenty years of experience in the industry, I have realised that with passion, dedication and commitment, time can be managed easily. I am dedicated to this profession and have been working towards the betterment of academics and departments. Time management has not been a problem with me. 

Bridging the gap between students and management

Seeing the present scenarios in different Universities, I make a point to personally interact with all the students. I try and get involved and help in their activities and academic problems. I give motivational lectures to them on a regular basis so that they adapt my style of functioning. This way I try and establish a relation with the students. 

Plans for the next few years

We want to focus on providing our students with the best academic learning. Our plan is to also focus on the infrastructure and provide a healthy atmosphere for our students. We want them to have a sound technical knowledge and with skill-set that helps them get the exposure of the industry. We also want our students to get placement offers with authentic and good companies. 

Suggestions before selecting a college

I want students to open their eyes and look at the track record of the Director or Director General before taking admission in their institution. They should not follow others blindly. They should also visit the college personally with their parents before choosing the institution. I believe that the backbone of any organisation is the management. Only a dynamic leadership can take one to glory.
