Dr. Arashdeep Singh is the Managing Director of Modern Group of Colleges, Hoshiarpur. His innovative, resourceful, and result-oriented thinking has taken the institute to new heights. He completed his graduation in Mechanical Engineering and then shifted to management by completing post-graduation and Ph.D. He has twelve years of experience in education management, market research, team building, sales, etc. He is also the founder and CMD of E-Emerge Global, which helps students with visas and immigration. He is a member of the English Language Testing Society (ELT Society), associated with the iTEP-International Test of English Proficiency.

What is your philosophy of Leadership, and describe your leadership style?

I always believe in leading by example. As a leader, I take the required actions and assist my team further to keep them organized. I always ensure that we are all on the same page and contributing equally. Communication is one of our greatest strengths. I also appoint new members and help them identify their strengths and weaknesses. 

What do you see as the Modern Group of Colleges' greatest strengths?

We do not only represent ourselves as an educational organization rather we aspire of being the leader in the education industry. We consider the needs of students and follow learner-centric pedagogies. We also wish to enrich the students with the skills and confidence that they serve society in the future.

India's and other countries educational systems are structured significantly differently. In your experience, what are the benefits of studying at your institution for an international student?

Education is constantly growing and changing with time. The way we teach today is a lot different than we used to earlier. Also, every country develops its own educational system and brings modifications as required. But the objective of education is always the same, to increase human creativity and contribution to society. We do familiarize the students with the outer world but also, ensure that Indian culture and hidden gems remain intrinsic.

We all know that everyone has the right to learn and quench their thirst for knowledge they seek. But somebody’s socio-economic background should not hinder their learning. We have multiple provisions for the needy and suppressed sections of society. We provide scholarships to support education expenses and encourage meritorious students from weaker sections. Any student can access all our resources, irrespective of their background. 

What do you believe your tasks and obligations are toward the college and its students?

My fundamental duty is to execute excellent educational plans to ensure the development of students and the institute. I should also guide the students in academics and their life aspirations.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

In the track of time, each generation is a succession to the previous one which in turn is the foundation for new ones. Youth is a magical moment of imagination and mystery. We watch today’s young people play, fail, dream, and also move on in life. Every emotion they face is full of surprises. Each generation has its battles, but young and aspiring student souls face a different battle. It can affect sanity more than any other generation’s war.
