Prof Chetan Wakalkar is presently serving as Managing Trustee Group Director at Indira Group of Institutes, Pune. With several years of experience in the education sector, he has been serving as a founding member and chairperson to many prestigious institutions and associations globally. Also, Prof Chetan has bagged many awards and recognitions to his name at various international forums including 'Distinguished Educator Award' in 2011 in Singapore and 'Innovative Leader in Education' at World HRD Congress in 2012.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

What do you think are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Energizing students with comfort and sound environment”

We make relevant efforts to ease the students, draw their attention towards academics and acquaint them with their teachers, institutes and batch mates. This is followed by basic training by our world-class faculties to set the tone of the curriculum and belongingness to the surroundings. A healthy and leading learning atmosphere inculcates in students strong professional skills and dominant ethical values that help them throughout their lives.

What would be your College’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“Better course designing and global collaborations”

Adhering to our vision to provide quality and value-based education to the masses, our Institute plans to expand its reach and educate more and more youths affordably. We plan to include new courses and specializations along with developing new campuses and ultra modern infrastructure for better delivery of technical skills. In future, we also plan to collaborate with top international universities so that we give our youth the opportunity and knowledge they need to fulfill their dreams.

What do you think are the core strengths of your Institute?

“Industry oriented program structure and curriculum”

Career and Leadership Development Programme (CLDP) is a systematic programme designed by the Institute to expose the students to the latest concepts in various subjects, current trends and innovative practices. We have tie-ups with renowned organizations like Ozone Consultants, Stratecent Consulting, etc. giving an opportunity to our students to interact with eminent personalities around the globe and learn the core values from them. In 2020, we also introduced Indira Global Leadership Lecture Series (IGLLS), which gave our students the opportunity to interact with international CEOS, CMO, Entrepreneurs, Managing Director not only from various industries here, but from different countries like US, UK, UAE, etc.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the aspiring students?

“Better Less but Deeper”

I would not tell you to learn each and everything that comes your way. But, you must ensure whatever you go ahead with; you should have a full hold over. Apply all your efforts to get deep into the roots of your desired field, leave no stone unturned to reach where you want.
