Prof. (Dr.) M.M. Saxena is the President (Vice-Chancellor) at Tantia University Sri Ganganagar. He has completed M.Sc. Zoology with specialization in Environmental biology and also possesses a Ph.D. in this field. He has over 40 years of research, Postgraduate teaching, and administrative experience and has worked as a research Supervisor of Four State and Central Universities. He has supervised 22 Ph.D. and 26 M.Phil. scholars. Also, he has published over 150 Research Papers in journals of international repute, besides authoring 7 Books. He has been awarded by different agencies for his contribution to the field of education and the environment.

What according to you should be the top priority of Tantia University for the next 5 years?

“A venture into health sciences courses, with great infrastructure and faculty for aspiring students”

The university envisages introducing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Medical and Veterinary science for which infrastructure and all necessary facilities have already been developed. We anticipate starting our first batches in these disciplines in session 2021-22. 

What are some plans that you’re currently designing for students?

“Newer courses focusing on health sciences domain are in the pipeline for us”

We are in the process of expanding our educational courses. Various medical and veterinary science courses are all set to attract students from all corners. We hope to broaden our horizons and reach with these courses. Our efforts are directed towards making sure that the students get exposed to different aspects of learning.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education?

“A steep growth in the number of educational institutes, eventually hampering quality education”

Currently, there is an increase in academic organizations all around the globe. We believe it to be a healthy sign, as far as the quality is not compromised. Continuously maintaining quality is a challenge for all educational managers and they should address it very seriously to ensure the right growth of future generations. 

How do you establish a healthy environment at the University?

“Positive bonds between faculties, students, and peers to create a conducive learning environment”

We have a regular dialogue with students, parents, faculty and staff. Addressing their problems, to earn their confidence is very essential for us. We believe in establishing relationships that promote constructive social interaction and create an environment of trust and support.

There is no short cut to success. I urge all my students to be open-minded to indulge in the vibrant environment of learning, shape their dreams and work towards the bright future ahead. In this dynamic age, the student has to build understanding and develop opinions and beliefs through learning processes. Altogether, one must become a socially aware individual after completing their education.
