Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Shruti Agrawal: “WAT or written test round was conducted. All the candidates of the particular slot were supposed to write the test at the same time. WAT was conducted offline Around 20 mins was provided to write the answer and not more than 2 mins to think on the given topic. The topic that was given to us was general and not too technical.”

What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Shruti Agrawal: “The topic given was on the lines - should Btech students be given equal chance in getting admissions to IIMs as more BTech students get admitted than commerce students.”

What were your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Shruti Agrawal: “The points put forward by me was that it is justified to give them equal chance. Although it affects the count of engineers that we have since their specialization lies in that area but if they are deciding to go for an MBA, they should be given an equal chance to get admission because of their aptitude.”

Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Mention 3 reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted (OR if you did not join this college after converting it, mention 3 reasons for not joining it).

Shruti Agrawal: “IIM Jammu is the newest IIM but it is performing better than some of the other new and baby IIMs academic wise and placement wise as well. If we see the fees, it is less than many other B- schools that do not provide promising placements and is reasonable enough because you are getting an IIM tag along with the experience of getting caught by the experienced professors of other IIMs. IIMs have fees according to their position in the list of IIMs and so IIM Jammu’s fees are less than the other IIMs. The total fees are around 14 lakhs which is reasonable enough considering the course structure, quality of teaching, infrastructure and placements. Along with that, it also provides an opportunity of International Exchange Program (IEP) which provides global exposure to students to study in the international partner institutions.”

What was the reason for you not converting to other colleges?

Shruti Agrawal: “The college I was not able to convert was IRMA as its interview did not go well. The interview was a technical interview and I wasn't prepared for it. So, in case you're giving a domain preference in the interview, make sure you're prepared for it.”
