Akshit Jain: “General (No reservation)

Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Akshit Jain: “WAT was conducted in offline mode and 20 mins were given to each candidate to write the answers which include 5 mins to think on the topic. I would suggest writing or thinking about some bullet points in the initial 5 mins around which your write up will revolve.”

What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Akshit Jain: "Improvements required in Indian Education system”

What were your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Akshit Jain: “As we understand how education plays an important role in one's life and it has also been a major issue in our country. Though the central government and education boards are working on reforms the existing education model is still way too long. Some issues which should be taken care of are 1. Introduction of technology, 2. Personal learning, 3. The evaluation system, 4. Better training of educators”

Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Akshit Jain: “

The interview was conducted in Online mode since it was before the lockdown. There were three panels in all and each panel has two members out of which both were the faculty of IIM. Generally, the interview was going around for about 20-25 mins and it was a light but more discussion-based interview where open-ended questions were put forth by the panellist. Pro tips - Don not hesitate and give your best shot because they are here to select you not to reject.”

Mention at least 5 interview questions that were asked to you and your responses to each of them.

Akshit Jain“1. What is the difference between Digitalization and Digitization? Digitalization is the use of digital technologies to transform the business model and completely move a step ahead of Digitization by leveraging information technology. Digitization is the conversion from analogue to digital of existing data.

2. What do you think about India's take on helping other countries during Covid? I think India is taking such a big step to help other nations for the well being of humanity either by rescuing students from China or providing basic needs.

3. What is your current job role and how it is adding value to the organization? Currently, I am working as a Business Analyst where I am a part of the project management team and responsible for implementing new clients on our internal platforms where my duties involve working with database applications and creating SQL queries. I also act as a bridge between the solutions/sales and the development team. Being a Business Analyst, I constantly interact with clients with helps us to convert the deals and have more business.

4. Share your experiences where you have shown leadership skills? Due to the high attrition rate in my current organization, I was given the responsibility to train the new hires about the existing system and hold a responsibility to look after each member in my team and due to which I got the best employee award. So, I think that would be an appropriate example of leadership that I have shown.

5. what are your views about the recent deal between the US and the Taliban, how do you see it? I think that is a completely political movement by President Donald Trump in lieu of the upcoming Presidential elections. He wants to portray his image as an Anti-terrorist person by taking advantage of the existing Iran and Syria crisis. So, I think there is no impact of this deal with diplomacy on the global front.”

Mention 3 reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.

Akshit Jain: “Being in IIM, one would get exposure to world-class faculty, campus life and of course the placements. It is also performing better than some of the other new and baby IIMs academic and placement wise as well. Along with that, it also provides an opportunity for the International Exchange Program (IEP) which provides global exposure to students to study in the international partner institutions.”
