National Institute of Design was established in 1961 at Ahmedabad. The institute provides UG and PG degree in domain of design. NID conducts DAT for admission to its UG and PG courses. NID Admit Card 2022

NID Entrance Exam 2022
NID conducts DAT (Design Aptitude Test) to determine design abilities of aspirants seeking admission. It is a two and half hour exam conduct for admission in courses like B. Des and M. Des. The application form can be filled online at college website. The college releases admit cards for students. The students appear for DAT on exam date. After completion of process the results are uploaded on official website
NID DAT 2019 exam doesn’t have any set syllabus. Question will be asked on basics topics such as Communication Skills, Composition, Creativity, Drawing Skills, General Mental Ability, and Sensitivity to Environment and Subjects of Design. It will be conducted in 2 stages i.e. Prelims and Mains.
DAT Prelims is a three-hour test conducted across country simultaneously on a single day and time slot. It is a pen and paper based test with no negative markings. The students have to fill the OMR sheet which would be evaluated digitally. The question paper is in English and all questions are compulsory.
DAT Prelims consist of two sections: Section I and Section II
Section I: Multiple-choice questions marked out of 70 points. This part has questions with one or more than one correct answer.
Section ll: Subjective questions marked out of 30 points, with responses to be provided in visual and/or written formats.
Based on the DAT Prelims scores, separate merit lists are prepared for each category (OPEN, OBC-NCL, SC, ST & PwD). Shortlisted candidates only are eligible to appear for the DAT Mains exam. The DAT Mains f consist of tests in different formats such as drawing/sketching, hands-on model making, group discussions, presentations etc. The Mains is marked out of 100 points and is conducted in English. The test center will be NID Ahmedabad. In order to be considered for the merit list, a candidate must appear for all the tests in both the DAT Prelims and the DAT Mains.
