Mr. Aveek Datta has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics at Bharat Technology, Howrah, West Bengal. His area of research is Pharmaceutics and he has done M. What are the admission statistics of your college? Has it increased from last year?

"We are doing good as far as admission scores are concerned"

The admission statistics of our institute is amazing from the time we have started our journey of imparting finest quality education to students. And no doubt, the scholarship and credit card system is enhancing students' studies and simultaneously helping us to get more students. Last year, 80% of seats were filled for various courses and this has increased upto 10% more this year. 

Has your college introduced any new programs for students this year?

"No, currently we are not providing any new course to our dear students"

Presently, we are not offering any courses to our students but yes, NSP schemes like Pragati Scholarship, Swanath Scholarship and Central Govt Scholarship are being provided by us to needy and eligible students to help them pursue their dreams.

Does your college offer any kind of scholarships to students, if yes how many students are getting benefited from it?

"We provides scholarships to students based on their academic performance and economic status"

Yes, our college offers scholarships to eligible meritorious students in addition to those who hail from low economic backgrounds. And currently, our 200 students are receiving benefits of these scholarships. 

Being the Assistant Professor at Bharat Technology, what is your philosophy of leadership?

"Clear communication and collaboration is very important to lead a team"

I use both modern as well as conventional ways to deal and lead people having different mindset, skills and experience. And I believe that experience is the best teacher, and I get to learn something new everyday while interacting with my faculty members, students and industry people. 

What would you like people to know about the scholarship your college provides to students?

"Scholarships reduces academic hurdles of students and helps them to achieve their goals"

We always give advertisements for the scholarships via notice board or online groups through which we stay connected with our students and we promote it through offline modes as well. I firmly believe that scholarships allow students to focus on their studies by increasing their chances of staying in school and graduating on time. Students who receive scholarships have fewer financial concerns, more time to study, and a greater chance of success.

How does the curriculum ensure the best practices of industry?

"It is backed by best courses, training programs and industrial exposure"

Our curriculum is a blend of the best programs and training to make students future and corporate ready. And it is prepared after thorough analysis of industrial and students requirements and necessary stakeholders, eminent industry experts and academicians are included too in the review in order to give any suggestions or inputs before it's finalization.

With the competition so high, how do you prepare your students to confront it?

"We arrange regular sessions for them on personality development and encourage them to upgrade their skills"

First of all we assist students to get the scholarship by guiding and providing them with the best education and skills. We also conduct grooming classes for them to enhance their presentation, speaking and listening skills etc. Because they will get confidence only when they have the desired skill set which the outside world demands. In addition to these activities like group discussion, personal interview and debate competition are organized too.

Being a Faculty of the Department, what are your responsibilities towards the students?

"To provide best education to them and enhance their overall personality"

Being an Assistant Professor, my responsibility is to empower my students' personality and make them a good person by inculcating the best education and values in them. Apart from this, resolving their academic doubts and improving their communication, writing and thinking skills also comes under the ambiance of my responsibilities. 

How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

"By interacting with them on a regular basis through an open and respectful communication forum"

For the purpose of ensuring a good relationship with everyone, be it my fellow colleagues or my students, I communicate with them on a regular basis so that I can address their academic and non-academic issues and resolve them on time. In addition to this, I offer a transparent and trustworthy communication environment to them so that they can be open about anything they want to share with me and can also give their suggestions when I need it.

How do you introduce a practical and industry oriented approach towards subjects?

"By updating ourselves with latest industrial trends and demands"

We have adopted different approaches to ensure the industry-oriented attitude for subjects we teach to our students. Firstly, we keep ourselves updated with the latest trends and requirements of the corporate world and try to include those demands in the form of new programs and activities. Apart from this, industry experts are invited to take guest sessions in our college for the purpose of guiding our students about how actually the industrial world operates and which skills they will be required to get a good job in reputed organizations. Lastly, we stay connected with students via an online system like whatsapp group. 

Any advice which you would like to give to your students and youths of our society?

"Set achievable goals for yourself, follow your own passion and don't trust others blindly"

I would suggest to my students and to youths of our society that define realistic goals for yourself and don't travel every other road others are travelling on. Keep looking for opportunities where you can utilize your existing skills and build new one. You will have to work hard anyhow because there is no shortcut for success, be truthful with you and people you admire. 

What are your views upon the scholarship your college offers to students?

"Scholarships helps students a lot to fulfill their academic goals and in research activities too"

I firmly believe that scholarships are for sure an important factor of motivation for students and especially for those students who come from backward areas and are not financially stable. Because they can use the scholarship amount to fulfill their academic requirements and that's what the ultimate moto of offering scholarships to them is.

When you joined BT, what was your vision for it and how are you trying to achieve the same?

"My aim was to contribute in the growth of students and institution in the best possible way"

When I joined Bharat Technology, my aim at that time was to make this institute top choice among students by utilising my past Knowledge and experiences. And I knew very well that it would only be possible when students will get the finest quality education and amenities to grow on both personal and professional fronts. Hence I am putting my 100% to make my vision come true.

What approaches do you bring in apart from curriculum to teach the students?

"I teach my students by relating a concept using PPT, videos and case studies"

I use a perfect amalgamation of different teaching techniques and tools to teach my students. Because we all know very well that young minds can't understand all concepts through written text only, hence I use case studies as examples while relating any topic with its practical application. In addition to this, I use PPTs and videos while taking lectures or labs to make them understand a concept in more depth.

What do you see as your college’s greatest strengths and how it can be enhanced?

"Our faculties, management, staff members and in fact every person who work for us makes us strong"

The main pillars of strength for our college is not one but many actually. Firstly, the dedicated team of our highly educated and experienced faculty members, then our staff who work for us. Next is our management who keeps us inspired to do our best and last but not the least, education and scholarships we offer to our students to help them pursue their dreams with us makes us strong and resilient.
