Being the Professor of IIMK , what is your philosophy of leadership?

"A true leader knows how to accomplish a task using his team strengths"

I think my strengths as a leader are effective delegation and communication and both are my strengths too. So I always try to delegate tasks to whosoever is best-equipped to perform the task and I try to communicate clearly about what needs to be done, and why. This eliminates back-and-forth mistakes and the need to re-do tasks. This practice helps us to save our time and achieve our goals as defined.

How does the curriculum of IIMK ensure the best practices of industry?

"It is prepared after discussion with industry people and members of Board of Studies"

We draft and update our curriculum after rigorous consultation with industry experts with regards to industrial developments and expectations from us. Then the modifications are carefully reviewed by the Board of Studies and approved by an expert panel of the Academic Council. With the advanced teaching methodology, students are exposed to maximum practical learning and our placement committee is very strong to build industry students interface. Lastly, we offer internships to students every semester to give them a real idea of how things work in the corporate world.

What are your responsibilities for the college and students?

"To teach students, develop subjects curriculum, take students assessment and mentor them"

Being an Associate Professor, my responsibility is to design and develop curricula by using innovative approaches, for subjects I teach to students. In addition to this, delivering a range of programs, ensuring my teaching methodologies remain in line with industry standards, taking students' admissions and assessments, developing, implementing and coordinating college research strategy, supervising students for their projects , conducting field trips if necessary, promoting and developing team spirit are some of my other day to day responsibilities towards college and my dear students.

What do you see as the greatest strengths of your IIMK College?

Research based ambiance in our college helps students and professors to gather new information to test theories and hypotheses. We also have amazing leadership to guide us, a dedicated team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members to teach students along with a well defined vision to inspire us to work for the goodwill of society. And we enforce the ambiance of discipline in our college because it's very essential to get success in any field. And all these factors together make us strong and resilient.

When you first came to IIMK, what was your vision for the university? 

"To ensure students get finest quality of education and research facilities"

When I joined this college, my aim was to fulfill student needs by creating an educational environment in which they can attain a variety of goals. Apart from this, I wanted to ensure a high standard of integrity and performance to achieve college vision and mission. Lastly, to collaborate with my team, to foster a learning community in which the diverse values, goals, and learning styles of all students are recognized and supported, to encourage enthusiastic, independent thinkers and learners striving for personal growth and to implement cutting-edge technology that enhances instruction and prepares students for life-long success were some of the other high priority goals of mine.

What do you think should be the college's top priority over the next 10 years?

"To bring best opportunities for students and ensure high GPA for college"

For the upcoming years, our goals would be to maintain high GPA, good attendance of students, bring new learning experience for them, enhance our relationship with our industry partners and improve our infrastructure by including latest Programs and training.

What makes your college unique in comparison to others?

"Our programs, well resourced infrastructure and facilities makes us different from others"

Our main pillars of our strengths are our dedicated team of faculty members who all are highly educated and skilled professionals. Next is our well developed infrastructure in terms of highly spacious classrooms, study rooms, library and canteen like facilities etc. And also our courses are easily affordable. In addition to this, we have different types of sports in our college and a national level coach to teach students. Lastly, our focus remains on imparting more practical knowledge instead of delivering only theoretical concepts to students. 

How do you tend to establish a healthy relationship and environment in your institute?

"By understanding their issues from their perspective and encouraging a open communication environment"

To ensure a cordial and respectful relationship with our students, we interact with them on a regular basis to understand things from their point of view, use humor in between communication whenever I feel there is a need to do so. Also we have made our classrooms digital by equipping all of them with the latest tools and technologies. You can plan, map and research all summer, but once those kids get in the room anything can happen. You don't have to have everything together on day one.

Any suggestion which you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

"Believe in yourself and develop your personality to face this world with more confidence"

I would like to advise my students that don't lose hope, keep enhancing your skills and personality. Because once you will be confident enough to face the outside world, nothing can stop you from achieving your goals, and that confidence will only come if you are skilled enough. You are unique the way you are, you are luckier than you think, just believe in yourself and everything will come to you at the right time.
