Dr Surekha Jichkar is the Director of the Real Institute of Management and Research, NagpurShe did B.A in English Literature, LLB, M.Sc, M.Phil, MBA, NET and PhD. She has varied experience of 30 years spanning across academics and industries. She has worked as an Administrative Officer, Assistant Manager, Associate Professor at IMT Nagpur, CEO of Nirmal Group and Professor of JIT, Nagpur. Dr. Jichkar is a regular trainer at Indorama Synthetics, Western Coalfields Limited, Jayaswal NECO and National Thermal Power Corporation Limited. She received several awards in the Outstanding Woman Award by National Women Scientist Association and Rotary International for Excellence in Diverse Fields.

What are your roles and responsibilities?

“To provide better education and improve the personality of all members on campus”

Students have the talent to learn new things quickly within less time. My responsibility is to give better education to all pupils. It ensures to raise their personalities. We try to look at the interested areas of students and support them to attain confidence.


What are the factors that connect you with the education sector?

“To learn something new and improve myself as a teacher”

I learned about specific products and finished work while working in the corporate sector. It led me to work on several tasks. Learning new ideas each day connects me with the education sector. I want to improve myself as a teacher and transfer it to pupils.


What is your vision for the Real Institute of Management and Research?

“To impart several courses and ideas for the benefit of society and students”

I decided to follow the teaching profession at the time of my MBA studies. Our vision is to impart several courses and ideas for the benefit of society and students. I liked MBA due to different courses such as Psychology, Marketing, Finance, and economics.


What initiatives do you have planned to help students to face real-world challenges?

“Teach students about industry trends through mini-projects and visits”

MBA students need to learn industry-related concepts and be industry-centric. We provide mini-projects to each pupil for a better understanding of subjects in the industry. It assists them to grab everything easily and succeed in placements.

What are you planning to improve the placements at RIMR?

“Improve soft skill development, personality and industry visits for students”

Students believe that to attain placements they should get good marks. In reality, personality, communication and confidence play a vital role during placements along with normal marks. We decided to deliver soft skill programs from the first year and help them to develop personalities. I want my students to become the best entrepreneurs and provide support for society.


How do you plan to deliver the best education to the students?

“Group discussions, activities, events, and quizzes are provided to students”

We ask students to teach some topics and it improves their knowledge level. Some hidden talents are viewable during group discussions and peer learning. Our campus gives activities, events, and quizzes to increase confidence for students.


What are the greatest strengths of the Real Institute of Management and Research?

“Friendly connection with students and faculties on campus”

Our campus contains UG courses in BBA and BCA for pupils. They can choose their courses as per their interests. One of the strengths of the campus is a friendly connection with students and faculty. Hence, the campus becomes an open space for each member.


What are your plans to promote the Real Institute of Management and Research?

“Provide skill development and best quality education inside the campus”

We promote our campus through quality education. Faculties are pillars of our campus and they transfer accurate content to students. The campus also works on skill development of students and it raises talents among them for a good job.


What are your plans for the internship of the students?

“Placements, Summer Internship and corporate interaction programs are available to students”

We provide a Summer Internship Program for students at the end of the year. It assists them to perform well in placements and attain a better job. Our campus decided to start corporate interaction programs to get skills as per industry standards for students.

Any suggestions would you like to give to the current youth?

“Learn from your past and perform well”

My suggestion for youth is to work hard and perform well from the beginning. It is necessary to never look back and learn everything from the past. Mistakes are normal and make sure to not repeat the errors. One should always learn from their past and succeed in the future.
