Mr. R Kasturi is currently the registrar at Motherhood University in Uttarakhand. He is a veteran in the education industry, according to him "quality education should consist of a progression of enhancements each raising the individual to a higher level of responsiveness, appreciative and affinity leading to the wholesome development of an individual". He previously has been the Treasurer & Registrar, at various private institutes.
What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
“An innate inclination towards forming excellent education institutes”
I have a passion for establishing good institutions. Since the beginning of my career, I have been interested in the education field. I have had the opportunity to work with great institutes such as IMT Ghaziabad, IMS Ghaziabad, and Jaipuria Institute Lucknow.
Being a Registrar, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
“Being humble enough to be approached by students & faculty alike”
I must make sure that the orders from higher authorities are properly executed at the University. My philosophy of leadership is to be approachable to gain knowledge about any difficulties with the students, or even within the management. If you’re leading then people should be able to come up to you to discuss issues freely.
Check Motherhood University Courses & Fees
Any insights into how your university could be more inclusive to students of different backgrounds?
“An affordable fee structure along with scholarship opportunities for the needy”
Because our university is located in a remote, rural area; many of the students coming here belong to poor families, hence at Motherhood University we have tried to make the fee as low as possible, easy and simple EMI is also available. All schemes and policies provided by the government are also put to good use here.
What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?
“Motivating everyone on the campus to excel academically & personally as well”
As a mediator between academics and the administration departments, I try my level best to maintain an environment of harmony and cooperation amongst everyone.
What do you think should be the University’s top priority in the coming days?
“Normalise the academic process, disrupted due to the pandemic”
I believe that the changes that were brought about due to the pandemic will be reversed in a few months or years and things will be back to normal. I firmly believe that offline classroom teaching is way better than the current online counterpart, eye-to-eye contact during an actual class produces much better learning. University’s top priority should be getting back to the offline classes.
Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
“There is no shortcut to success, hardwork is the only way”
Work hard, nothing is possible without hard work. I see many students trying to take shortcuts but 99.99% of the time you’ll fail without hard work. The youth must strive to achieve their goals with dedication and will power.
