Dr Shradha Pandey is the Head of the Law Department at ITM University Raipur, Chhattisgarh. She has completed B.A., LL.B., LL.M., and Ph. D. With experience of 8 years, her main area of research includes Human Rights. As a dedicated faculty, she has guided research in PhD, M. Phil and LL.M programs. More than 25 research papers have been published by her in various National and International Research Journals.
How is your experience so far in the education industry?
“An enriching journey that has given me the ability to empower others with knowledge”
The experience has been fulfilling. I always had an inclination towards teaching and wished to venture in this domain. I have taught people from different socio-economic backgrounds. This has eventually taught me alot about the struggles and difficulties of life. Overcoming different challenges with a positive mindset has been the biggest lesson of my life.
What is the most inspiring aspect of the teaching field?
“The ability to communicate with and influence young minds to become future leaders”
I strive for academic excellence and impart quality education to nurture students with the best of technical skills.To shape the students in such a way that they will be an asset to the community and nation at large. I try to share knowledge, morals and values with my students that will help them grow as professionals of tomorrow and be responsible citizens.
What is your philosophy of leadership?
“To be a patient listener, calm advisor and positive influencer”
A leader should have a vision and should be able to adapt quickly to the changing demands and circumstances. He/She should look to build a system by which every other person realizes the responsibilities and carries out the assigned duties judiciously. Setting an example and bringing along everyone in the decision making activities is essential for a leader.

How did you develop an interest in the field of Law?
“Being a part of the justice system inspires me to help the society every day”
Law is one of those niche sectors that is never going to get old. It will be required in every step of governance. Also, it is not rigid. Even with the advent of technology, there will be new policies and legal bindings added. These factors of law that have a huge effect on our society made me gravitate towards this sector.
What is your unique teaching method?
“A practical approach to concepts and its implications makes it easy to learn”
I believe that students find it easy to learn when they can relate to something. Hence, I use many real-time examples during classes. This eventually makes things easy to understand. Inculcating practical steps during theory sessions has proven to be helpful in studies.
Are there any placement opportunities for the students?
“A dedicated placement cell to help students navigate through the process”
Yes, we have a special placement cell specifically for this purpose. They ensure that students get ample opportunities to apply for during the placement drives and are ready for it. Mock sessions for interviews and group discussions are also carried out to prepare students efficiently.
What are the most important functions carried out by you?
“Fulfil the academic needs of students, staff members and administrative teams”
As an HOD, it is my duty to inculcate ethical values and encourage everyone to follow good practices at work and life. Also, to manage and maintain the decorum of the department. I also coordinate with other department heads for overall University growth.
