Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any).
Chetanya: IIM Sirmaur is part of the CAP round process, and since I got selected during the COVID outbreak, every process was conducted online. Moreover, there is no GD or WAT for the CAP round institutes. Only one-on-one interviews occurred.
However in 2022, IIM Trichy helped with completing the CAP round process.
Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.
Chetanya: In my CAP interview round, my panel had two members both being professors of an IIM, assuming it to be Trichy's. The interview was conducted in an online setting, and the interview went on for like half an hour.
Yes, it was a stressful interview. Since I had a coding background and, coincidently, one of the interviewees happened to be an engineer, so most of my interview was based on the subjects I covered during my graduation.
My suggestion would be that, it is better to know current affairs, but it is highly crucial to be well-versed in the subjects you studied during your graduation years.
Collegedunia Team: Mention at least 5 questions that were asked in IIM Sirmaur Interview and how you responded to each of them?
Chetanya: The series of questions that were asked during the Interview are:-
Ques 1. What was the need to introduce JAVA when we already had C++?
Ans. The answer is a lengthier one, but JAVA being platform-independent and easier to write, should be the main focus.
Ques 2. What are libraries in C++?
Ans. Libraries are a pre-defined collection of codes that, once added, we can use the functions present in those libraries.
Ques 3. Why was C++ introduced when we already had C?
Ans. The answer revolved around the object-oriented approach that can be used in C++.
Ques 4. Why is python mainly used nowadays in big companies?
Ans. My answer included that we can use modules in Python, where we can write short codes in different modules and combine them into one single code.
Ques 5. What is Augmented Reality?
Ans. Augmented Reality is enhancing the real world with the concepts of virtual reality. Like, snapchat's dog filter uses the idea of Augmented Reality.

Collegedunia Team: Mention any three reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.
Chetanya: So, my other converts were IMT Ghaziabad, IMI Delhi, and FORE Delhi. Unfortunately, I did not convert to any other IIM. So my reasons are pretty simple:
The first being the brand value of the IIM tag and also the fact that I was in no position for a third CAT attempt. So, in my 2nd best convert, i.e. IMT, I converted to the Marketing course. However, I was unsure about choosing the Marketing field. With IIM Sirmaur, I had the option to explore other areas. And the fact that IIM Sirmaur had lesser competitive strength and a comparatively affordable fee structure was another significant reason.

Collegedunia Team: What was the reason for you not converting other colleges?
Chetanya: So, I appeared only for the CAP round, IMT, IMI, IIM Rohtak, and FORE Delhi's process. For the rest, I was not shortlisted for the interview round, nor did I fill any other institutes.
I converted IMT, IMI, and FORE but couldn't convert the rest of the IIMs. I think the primary reason was the lack of a good profile as I did not have any work ex, nor any extracurricular or competitive achievements, etc. As for IIM Rohtak's interview, it was a fail.
