Mr. Renooj Abdul Kader has been working as the Director of General Affairs at Eranad Knowledge City Technical Campus Manjeri, Malappuram, Kerala. He has done B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering and PG Diploma in Business Administration - HR. Also he has 20+ years of experience in the field of Administration, Admissions, Counseling, Career guidance & Placement with a strong track record of managing education institutions to success, in the states of Kerala and Karnataka. He is responsible for overseeing various accreditations such as ISO, NAAC and NBA etc. for several Institutions.
What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
"Satisfaction I receive here after educating my students is the biggest factor"
The advent of technology and its propulsive growth has initiated a massive transformation in the education sector, as the learning environment is being driven by innovation and technology. And the Education industry is the only sector which satisfies my urge to keep abreast of technology updates. I feel privileged to inculcate positiveness, a sense of social commitment among students while guiding them to build a career path of their own. Most importantly I am often hooked to the mutual energy we share while interacting with the vibrant and dynamic student community. Therefore all these factors are the main reason behind my so long association with the education sector.
What is your philosophy of leadership?
"Leadership for me is all about dealing positively with people and providing them correct opportunities to utilize their skills"
I believe in a transparent, open and inclusive way of working and when it comes to leadership we have an open door policy where all the stakeholders can share their views or opinions and are dealt with without prejudice. Also, I lead by doing, delegating and by facilitating open communication and never underestimate my team’s capacity because I know they are capable enough to complete assigned projects on time, hence I treat them with utmost care and respect and sometimes we do role reversals to have a fresh perspective in facing challenges. At the end of the day the team that delivers with the sense of responsibility that matters.
How is your college more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

I believe that communication is the key to ensure a healthy and cordial relationship with others. Hence, we have developed an effective, transparent and trustworthy communication system in our college to regularly interact with all the stakeholders and I always remain open to any kind of suggestions or thoughts which come from my students or fellow faculties. And to take students, staff and faculty members queries, the grievance system has been established too with an aim to fix everyone's issues on time and on a transparent basis.

What do you think should be the College’s top priority over the next 10 years?
"We should focus on getting Accreditation from NBA and becoming an autonomous institution"
We look forward to becoming an autonomous University which will be technology driven and focuses more on developing employability skills of students. Our Technical Campus is NAAC accredited, so we are working to get an accreditation from NBA for all our 5 branches in coming years. Apart from this, we will soon be starting new industry oriented learning programs and Degree courses aligned with the industry.
How do you strategize and update the curriculum of your college to make it more industry oriented?
"By collaborating with reputed industries and organizations and involving experts in its designing"
We have collaborated with various industries to ensure skill-based learning opportunities for our students. Also, research based assignments and projects are assigned by us to them on a regular basis and micro-skill courses have been made mandatory and aligned to their respective courses and for these skill development programs we don't charge any extra fee from them. In addition to this, we encourage our students to take up industry endorsed certifications based on their respective Engineering branches.
How does your college prepare students for placements?
"Students are made placement ready through rigorous training programs and industry connect sessions"
We offer 100% placement assistance and opportunities to our students and each student who secures minimum eligibility criteria for placements gets a chance to give 10-15 campus interviews. And our Placement Cell works dedicatedly to organize customized training programs to ensure students are ready before the actual interview process and receive job offers from amazing organizations. Also, we arrange extra learning sessions to develop their aptitude, technical, verbal communication and creative thinking capabilities in students from 3rd semester onwards. Last but not the least, access to various online learning platforms have been provided free of cost so that they can get an overview of aptitude and interview questions which companies generally ask.
Which extracurricular activities are organized in your college to enhance the skills of students?

We believe that along with academics, co-curricular activities are very important for students' complete personality development. Therefore we regularly organize arts fests, literature fests, sports fests and tech fests every year to develop interpersonal skills, leadership skills and team building skills in students. In addition to this, we have excellent infrastructure and facilities for sports and games including Football, Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Shuttle Badminton and Handball. Lastly, to instill a sense of social commitment in students, we have an outstanding two National Service Scheme(NSS) teams.

Our EKC Technical Campus has an amazing infrastructure and we have developed a calm, positive, appealing and dynamic learning environment for our students. Also our faculty members along with our young and dynamic leaders work dedicatedly for the overall growth and development of our students and they are always ready to address academic and non-academic issues and queries of our students. Lastly, we are committed to offer an affordable and quality Engineering education to our young generation. So I believe these factors together are the sources of our college strength.

Any valuable advice which you would like to give to the students for a prosperous career ahead?
"Don't afraid from being failed, but learn the lessons your mistakes are trying to teach you"
I firmly believe that our youths and students have the power to define their destiny, so I would like to advise my students to choose a career path which matches with your passion and skill sets. Sometimes you may feel that things are not going the way you expect them to be, but believe in yourself and your skills and keep working hard. Also remember that you are your biggest competition and Nobody will tell you what is wrong and what is right, so keep trying and don't overthink about things you can't control.
