Dr. Mahesh Nagarkar is currently working as I/c Principal and Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, at Shri. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj College of Engineering, Ahmednagar. He has received his doctorate in Mechanical Engineering. With a Ph.D. and M.E, he has 19+ years of experience in the teaching field at various levels such as teaching, research, and administration. He has received several grants for research projects & is highly motivated towards innovation in his field.

We receive students purely on merit bases and from PAN India and all sections of society. The institute also provides government scholarship facilities to students based on merit. We also facilitate availing education loan facilities from banks.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the students are?

“To be a facilitator of research-based education for this competitive world”

My role is to be a mentor, guide, and motivator to facilitate the teaching-learning process and encourage students to excel in their careers. Along with this to provide a platform to develop skills to make students industry-ready.

The greatest strength of SCSMCoE is its talented and skilled pool of students which is modifying and developing into industry-ready engineers and technocrats. The main strength and backbone of our college is its parent organization - Ahmednagar Jilha Maratha VidyaPrasarakSamaj. The trust is run by eminent personalities from the social and educational sectors having vast experience. 

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Be Self-reliant & make efforts to constantly march on the path of knowledge & skill creation”

My suggestions to aspiring engineers and technocrats are to strive in the path of research and development, with self-confidence, self-motivation, and belief. Try to create knowledge as wealth which will be your lighthouse along your journey.
