What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“The curiosity to learn more keeps me connected to the education sector”

As I pursued my education both in north and south, the quest for excellence and thirst for knowledge made me believe that education alone caters to high standards nurturing holistic development. My goal is to empower the learner, focusing on crafting and genuinely engaging them with a learning experience. There should be no doubt that educating a woman serves a larger ameliorative purpose as they are the emerging agents of change. As education is the base for all progress, I am committed to imparting education bustling with self-confidence, motivation, ever ready to take up challenges, academic achievement, and traditional and moral values, thereby promulgating the service to humanity. 

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“I believe in Transformation and charismatic leadership”

Education is the field where evolution takes place constantly amid the challenges. As a leader, I should possess a clear vision, passion, and skill to lead and direct my team to achieve the desired goal. I need to be empathetic and connected with my team to succeed and receive the desired result. As my team leader, I possess sufficient grit and determination to lead my team righteously, carving the path of success, providing equal opportunity to all-sustaining organizational culture, and an energy-efficient, eco-friendly campus. As education is also a sector that is endowed with some women leaders and administrators spearheading the institutions to a path of progression and possibilities, I am very much firm and determined to take this Transformation journey by bringing on an undeniable change in the lives of numerous future citizens.

How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your college?

“Setting benchmarks and word of mouth are important marketing aspects”

Education plays a vital role in nation-building, and like fresh air, it is necessary to make our communities come alive. We have to be conscious and profoundly aware that setting up standards and word of mouth plays a significant role in marketing the institution. Thus branding has become an integral part where we use pamphlets and prospectus for official communication. Social media is used to telecast and share important programs and other general communication. I feel that students, alumni, and stakeholders are our best brand ambassadors. They carry our brand worldwide, both nationally and internationally, bringing laurels to their alma mater.

What can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?

“Our prime focus is to develop and nurture students for future”

I want my institution to be a citadel of knowledge and learning where joy and peace abide with learners. Here learning is done in a pleasant environment gaining skill-based education that develops critical and logical thinking. Students are trained as unique individuals capable of arriving at correct decisions without losing societal values and thereby becoming responsible women to family and society. In short, each student is helped to lead an exemplary life, a life enriched with wisdom and admirable values as I not only focus on women's education. I also focus on complete women.

How does the curriculum of Shri Sakthikailassh Women’s College ensure the best practice of industry?

“We prepare student to acquire necessary skills”

As the college is affiliated to Periyar University, Salem, the institution follows the syllabi and curriculum of Periyar University. Any insights into how your college could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“We believe diversity brings more learning”

Shri Sakthikailassh is the first self-financing institution for women in Salem that was initiated to provide quality education to all girls who are socially and economically backward and weaker sections. The college offers equal opportunities for all invariable of different races and economic backgrounds by providing free buses to all students that play around 360° radius to make the students reach college safely and pursue their education without any discontent. The college also provides scholarships to students with a single parent.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the college and the students are?

“As an educationalist, I hold the responsibility of creating the next generation”

As an altruistic member of society, I believe that the hands that mold are also the hands that guide and lead. We develop leaders by imbibing moral ethics and involving them as team heads, office bearers of the student council, club members, event managers, etc. Thus, imparting quality and holistic education helps the students empower and carve the niche to be the leaders of tomorrow.

What do you think should be the college’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“We want to grow in all-dimensions”

Imparting value-based quality education, empowering the students, and catering specific needs of the student community are our top priority. Also, creating responsible empowered women, enabling the college to emerge as one of the premier institutions of higher learning by reviewing and updating the curriculum is another aspect. Keeping with the change in all disciplines by obtaining autonomy, accrediting to NAAC and by signing both National and International MoUs are what we look forward to in the upcoming years.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your college?

“We provide a conducive environment for the students to grow mentally and physically”

We have a Grievance and Redressal Cell for students to record their grievances, and their grievances are redressed in a week. The Counseling Cell councils the students and provides solutions. Meditation is given to improve memory and concentration, increase prosocial behavior, and reduce stress and anxiety. Frequent feedback and suggestions for improvement are received from parents and students.
