Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any).

Mohit: After clearing the cut-offs, I was called for the WAT&PI round. The briefing of the same was given by the Director and then we were given 10-15 mins for the WAT round. The group was segregated in 9 - 10 candidates per group and were given cases on General Scenario of the world/ Current Affairs. Since the WAT / PI rounds were conducted online, we had to type in our answers.

Pro Tips - Be in touch with keyboard writing as it is going to help you in the test and thereafter in your MBA journey.

Collegedunia Team: What was the WAT/GD Topic?

Mohit: The WAT topic that I got was a case based on how Generation Z are getting influenced by looking at their inspiration(s) / influencer(s) on social media. I had to evaluate the degree of impact and whether it is positive or negative for the youth.

Collegedunia Team: What was your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Mohit: At first, I evaluated the impact and gave references of how the pandemic made this impact more severe since we were all sitting at our home and footprints of social media increased drastically. Given the fact that easy internet access is very normal in India.

Secondly, I evaluated how social media can be an illusion and how youth find it difficult to differentiate between the same.

These were mostly the highlights of my answers to the case.

Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Mohit: After the WAT round, we were sent to the waiting room for the PI round. The moderator took care of the turns and we were sent in individually. My panel consisted of 2 members, both of them were the esteemed faculty of NMIMS Bangalore. The interview lasted for about 20 minutes. Though the interview was conducted online, the process was carried out very smoothly and no hassle was faced during the course. The interview was mostly based around my CV and it was more inquisitive in nature rather than a stressful interview.

Pro Tips: Please be updated with what you put on your Resume.

Collegedunia Team: Mention at least 5 questions that were asked in NMIMS Bangalore MBA Interview and how you responded to each of them?

Mohit: The questions asked during the Interview are:

Ques 1. Which is more powerful - RBI or SEBI?

Ans. RBI, being the central bank, is much more powerful than any other institution/ department since it plays a major role in running the economy. And given the fact that only a small percentage of people actually invest in shares / have a proper knowledge of Stock Markets in India.

Ques 2. Who is the governor of RBI?

Ans. Shaktikanta Das.

Ques 3. You seem to be fond of crypto currencies, tell me the full form of NFT(s) and something about metaverse?

Ans. Non Fungible Token. I mentioned the growing trend of metaverse and few active metaverse platforms including Decentraland and Sandbox.

Ques 4. What is the difference between a Riff and Distortion ? (Since playing Guitar is my hobby)

Ans. Riff is a musical piece played between the song, generally as an intro. Whereas Distortion is a processor used to alter the sound of a guitar (give it a metallic sound, for example).

Ques 5. Your title is very popular (Sharma). Can you tell me the names of five popular personalities with their surname as "Sharma"?

Ans. Rakesh Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Mohit Sharma (Indian Bowler), Neha Sharma (Actress), Anushka Sharma.

Collegedunia Team: Mention any three reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.

Mohit: I chose NMIMS Bangalore over other colleges because

1) It is the one of the best upcoming premier colleges, and

2) It is growing at the best rate among other colleges in the league,

3) Uniformity among students and ease of comparison of the overall crowd since the college considers only NMAT.

Collegedunia Team: What was the reason for you not converting other colleges?

Mohit: I had other options including KJ Somaiya and XIMB Bhubaneswar, but I chose NMIMS Bangalore because KJ Somaiya has a huge batch size and both XIMB and KJ Somaiya considers different examinations with major variations in the cut offs of each. Also, the domicile quota makes it very difficult to analyse the overall crowd distribution of the college.
