NITRA Technical Campus

Being the Director of NITRA TECHNICAL CAMPUS, what is your philosophy of leadership?

"For me leadership is an art of accomplishing desired goals by utilising team skills"

In my opinion, leadership for me is nothing but to get the best results by empowering all students and making them ready to face the world on their own. Leadership is not an imposition but an approach of clear communication, and getting things done on the earliest through discipline, time management and regular up-gradation of knowledge which we generally implement in our own institute also.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practices of industry?

"It is backed by activities like guest lectures, industrial visits and latest programs as per industry standards"

We are affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, and hence we follow the syllabus approved by the University itself. The committees formed by the University review and up-grade the syllabus regularly keeping the industry development, feedback and requirements. We are a reputed Textile Research Institute having R&D experience of more than 45 years. And to teach things beyond the curriculum, our faculty members use their long experience to enrich the students’ knowledge. We also invite experts from industry and reputed institutes including IIT and NIT as visiting faculty to deliver lectures to our students. Students from 2nd year onwards visit concerned industries/ companies to gain experience of how industry works.

How is your institute more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

"We do have financial assistance and best environment for every eligible and needy students"

NITRA Technical Campus is a Government aided Self Finance Institute and fees we charge for our courses are very less as compared to many private institutions. Our highly qualified faculties and good infrastructure help students to enrich their knowledge and experience. We grant admission to students based on a valid score in the JEE exam from all status irrespective of students financial condition and social standing. One of our senior officers has been allocated the job of helping needy students in filling-up of application forms or scholarship and more than 150 students are recipients of scholarship from U.P. State Government (Samaj Kalyan Division).

What do you think should be the Institution’s top priority over the next 10 years?

"We aspire to improve our education quality and presence among future students"

Our priority for the next ten years will be to upgrade our college infrastructure and skills of our faculty members in order to make our students industry ready when they finish their respective courses. And in this direction, we have introduced a batch in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) from last year and our aspiration would be to remain relevant and valuable for the concerned industries.

When you joined this institute, what was your vision for it? Has it evolved over time?

"It was to give best knowledge and environment to students by improving teaching pedagogy"

When I first joined this institute, my main objective was to improve the quality of teaching here by bringing discipline and proper system for the institute. But the real challenge started after two years of placing the passed out students in good companies. Now we can proudly say that we are able to place the students well above 95% and many of our students went for higher studies at IITs, NITs, NIFTs and Foreign Universities.

What would you like people to know about your institute?

"We are more than 45 years old institute and have best quality education and amenities for students"

NITRA is the parent body of our Institute and it is more than 45 years old and known to many as it has successfully developed many technologies and products in textile and allied fields. In the local area as well as other parts of India many people don’t know that besides degree courses in Textile Technology there are Computer Science & Engineering programs and the students of CSE Stream are equally successful in getting jobs and there are companies who come every year for placement. Also it is not known to many that our students are working in internationally acclaimed companies such as TCS, Infosys, HCL, AV Birla Group, Trident, Vardhman Group etc.

What do you see as your college’s greatest strengths?

"Our infrastructure, teaching staff, placement statistics and students achievement makes us strong"

Our college’s greatest strength is our highly experienced and knowledgeable faculty members, infrastructure, excellent placement records and performance of our students in University examinations.

What are the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for your college specifically?

"Continuously changing industry requirements is the biggest challenge today"

The biggest challenge for higher educational institutes is to cope up with the continuous developments and requirements of the market and industrial world. NITRA Technical Campus is not an exception.

Any suggestions which you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

"Stay focused towards your goals and spend a decent time in an organization as a fresher"

I would like to advise my students to take human value courses which have been recently introduced by the University and AICTE, because by studying these subjects, students will be able to face the challenges of the real world. And learn a trade properly and do it dedicatedly. There is a tendency in present students towards changing jobs too frequently, and I believe a few extra thousand rupees should not be motivation for changing jobs, especially in the beginning, you should at least spend 2-3 years in an organization.

How do you establish a healthy relationship and environment in your Institute?

"We ensure this by arranging different kinds of interactive sessions and events for them"

We organize different kinds of sports events and cultural programs for our students to foster healthy communication and increase interaction amongst them and between students and faculty. These activities help our students to chill and relax by giving them an environment to do activities which they really enjoy.
