I fervently believe that our individual leadership style changes with the organizational culture

Being a Director of Mody University, my main objective is to align myself and my fellow team members at University with the vision and mission of our Hon’ble Chairman Shri R. P. Mody. So, if we talk from that perspective, my philosophy of leadership style is more of a mix of “Strategic” and “Delegative”. My role is to articulate the overall vision and mission of the Apex Body and further prepare an actionable plan with small goals and objectives. I further delegate it to my motivated, highly skilled, and expert team members with time-bound and clear expectations. Further follow-ups and constant observance help me to achieve small goals and objectives on time.

I personally think that the Indian Education System is great and more robust and inclusive

Our, is a leading Women University and have been rated best University at various platforms both national and international levels. Contrary to what a normal opinion is, I personally think that the Indian Education System is great and more robust and inclusive. Look at the Indian leaders around in top MNCs, their foundation was laid in India, not in the US Or any European country. We may be considered theoretical Or exhaustive in terms of our curriculum but we are still the most inexpensive and all-encompassing educational system in the world. If somebody really wants to experience a rich culture and how one of the youngest countries looks like, and how these young talents would lead the remaining part of the 21st century, one must come to India and experience it. The people who would lead the world with their exceptional talents are studying right now in different esteemed Universities and Colleges in India and the future belongs to them. The whole world knows it.

Our paramount objective is to provide the wind beneath the wings of our students

Our efforts are always towards their empowerment and increasing their consciousness so that these ladies can lead the world without leaving their heritage and culture behind. In this process, I think we never thought of differentiating our students Or anyone in our University system for that matter on the basis of their race and economic background. A huge amount of scholarship is provided every year to the girls with great potential but coming from an underprivileged background. So to be very honest, for us, it is all about great talent.

The only objective at University is to contribute to the student welfare and overall development of students

We are a purely student-centric University. We have a set of rules and regulations which are transparent and our students can connect with us at any point in time. We often come here to enjoy the beautiful view of the serene Pond which has Ducks and Sheep to give us a complete closeness with nature. We feel like talking to Nature here. The cornerstone of our University's philosophy has been to train hearts and minds to conserve natural resources and learn to live with nature. We believe that the knowledge does not come from books alone.

One can learn a lot from surroundings while walking down the streets of the campus – be it from the vast variety of flora- fauna, or Shilalekh on various themes. In fact, you will agree with me this part of the state has been transformed into an oasis by us. Thousands of birds of over 100 species, and butterflies of 14 species, 25,000 trees, shrubs and plants of some 300 different species can be seen on the campus. We also have Gazebo on 10th street at the bank pond for Bird watching.

The pandemic has affected the dynamics and brought many changes across the world

COVID 19 has changed every dynamic across the world. The way we provided education, the way they received an education, the skills companies used to seek, the internal dynamics of these companies; nothing is the same in the last 4 months. The current youth may be required to reassess their skills requirements aligned with the new world order. They would require both agility as well as the flexibility to respond to these new changes. So I would ask youth to be very vigilant and understand the new dynamics as early as possible so that they can respond accordingly. It’s time to change as per the desire of time.

We have to adapt to the changes in order to sustain and bring developmental measures

We are also ready to respond to the current situation. We are working towards coming up with a better and robust learning system which can maintain the quality of delivery to the students sitting at far off places. The entire education sector is having teething challenges due to various reasons. We have also jotted down the areas of improvements in terms of technical infrastructure or anything for that matter which is not allowing the 100% quality delivery. So we are ready for the new world too.

Our vision and our constant efforts are our greatest strengths

We are preparing the future women leaders of India. We are preparing the leaders with substance, great respect to their heritage, and Indian ethos and family values. In higher learning, it becomes imperative to raise the standards of online educational content in terms of standardizing and accrediting courses

With authorities around the globe suggesting school closures whether localised or covering the nation, nearly 70 per cent of the world’s student population has been impacted to roots. In our nation alone, 32 crore students across the segments of pre-elementary, preparatory school, secondary, and tertiary are severely hit because of closure of the learning centers. Educators, on the other hand, struggle to overcome this paradigm shift from the traditional chalk-talk methods to the e-learning model, prepare online lesson plans and upload them.

In essence, there are many provocations associated with the accessibility of education owing to the existing digital divide. Coupled with this are other factors like the reliability of local electricity supply, equipment ownership, and digital skills of educators and pupils. While digitized learning culture appears to be a relief in such tough times, there are many pitfalls around it.

At college and higher levels, while Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs) have been in vogue for quite some time, there are serious caveats associated with them. In essence, they demand high levels of motivation, commitment, and self-regulation. Also without considerable guidance and support of teachers, it is unlikely for learners to navigate the world of online learning by themselves.

In higher learning, it becomes imperative to raise the standards of online educational content in terms of standardizing and accrediting courses offered by institutions apart from the national institutes. This move will not only promote the growth of credible content and institutions in the space of offering online education, but also mark a phase-mannered shift towards e-education.

Though the effects of the interventions taken at this time might start reaping dividends in a few years from now, countries like India, with a rich demographic dividend, ought to take mitigating measures at the very outset of the crisis.
