Parth Dave: “General (No reservation)”

Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Parth Dave: “The GD was offline and took place in Bangalore, India. There were 10 members in the group with 2 moderators. We were given 3 mins to note down our points for discussion. The total time given was around 15 mins for the discussion. The discussion started on a soft note with almost everyone getting a chance to speak. But since the topic was easy and familiar to everyone, it quickly became a fish market. The moderator had to interfere a couple of times to organize the GD.”

What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Parth Dave: "China or Pakistan, which is a bigger threat?”

What were your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Parth Dave: “The points that I put were in favor of China describing how it is an economic powerhouse and a progressive nation. We have had major territorial dispute of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim and its territorial policies toward other nations are also aggresive. Pakistan is also a threat as it has a track record of funding Islamic terrorists but it fares poorly on almost all development parameters.”

Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Parth Dave: “There were 2 members in the panel and the interview conducted was offline. The interview was 15 minutes long. It was a normal interview with basic questions from the profile and some general awareness questions.

1. Drive interviews towards your strengths whether it be hobbies, projects, academics etc.

2. It is okay to take time for thinking (30 -45 seconds before it becomes an awkward silence) before answering. Better to give an organized answer than being all over the place.”

What was the reason for you not converting to other colleges?

Parth Dave: “Not enough percentile and academics were the major reasons, I could not get a call from old IIMs.”
