You have had quite a long professional journey? What keeps you connected to the education sector?

“The opportunity to append the culture of learning with new features every single time”

Learning something new every single day, whether a new topic or a new way of addressing an old topic for class delivery. It is very exciting to meet new batches every year. Though we do establish some rapport with some of the old students, my endeavor is to connect with each student . I am passionate about teaching as I feel I am playing a small part in shaping the personalities of students, for their holistic development.

What are your thoughts on the evolution of Management education in India?

“The management studies like every stream never lacks in evolution”

Every discipline is evolving. We have to teach core concepts and fundamentals as well as new evolving concepts in each functional area. Across the globe, management education is putting strong emphasis on ethics and value system. The same is delivered through specially designed courses, encouraging students to work with NGOs, and showcasing the same through events on different platforms. New topics like Artificial Intelligence, Digital Marketing has made inroads in Management education and we need to address the same. This is required not only for imparting skills and building capabilities but knowledge of current topics instill confidence in students to face the corporate world . Hence the curriculum has to keep on evolving. The pedagogy has improved. Earlier there was over emphasis on long cases, now small cases, role plays, simulation have replaced the old pedagogyAnd Covid 19 Pandemic has put all emphasis on how best to use technology as a tool.

What are your strategies to cope with the Covid-19 situation in the teaching & learning process?

“The shift and acceptance of the digital platform for education and learning due to pandemic is noteworthy”

We now have access to various online platforms for engaging in online classes. We have worked tirelessly during the last six months to enhance the digital infrastructure. We have enhanced the bandwidth and improved other facilities like wifi, laptops, and digital pens to facilitate. online lectures. Enrich the classroom teaching through simulation games , a Learning Management system, next generation discussion forums.

What are your thoughts on the impact of technology in Education?

“The online platform for education and classes will continue but cannot replace F2F learning”

The impact is profound and it gives educators a tool to enhance and enrich their classroom delivery. It gives an opportunity to be able to give individual attention to students through online case discussions, assignments, and feedback. It is encouraging students to contact their professors outside the classroom hours through technology. It is possible to engage remedial classes for the students who require the same.

Do you feel online learning would replace Classroom learning in the coming future? Are we ready for this transformation?

“The quality education is the same but with a drawback of student’s health”

Online learning will not replace classroom learning for high ranked Institutes/ Business Schools. But because these Institutes will also enter the online learning space and expand their reach, they will attract students from remote locations who otherwise do not get an opportunity or take admission in schools in close proximity. It will also redirect some of the students from not so known B schools to well-known schools. Hence it will impact the B schools which are lower in the ranking. It is important to emphasize here that the earlier we prepare ourselves, the easier it will be possible to establish oneself and address the competition in the online education space.
