ICFAI University Dehradun conducts Convocation 2018 in the presence of Ho. Vice President of India Shri. M. Venkaiah Naidu

Dehradun, July 20, 2018: The ICFAI University, Dehradun hosted its convocation ceremony on July 14, with fervor in which 220 meritorious students were conferred degrees including 24 medal holders and 2 Ph.D. The event was dignified by the presence of Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu as the Chief Guest along with Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Hon’ble Minister of State, Uttarakhand were the Guests of Honour. The convocation was presided over by Dr. K. K. Paul, the Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand and the event was graced by Dr. M Ramchandran, IAS (Retd.), Chancellor, The ICFAI University.

"I am extremely delighted to be a part of ICFAI University's convocation. I congratulate the teachers for preparing them to face the globalized world. I would like to ask all the students to access, absorb, adopt the opportunities. Collaborate, co-op & compete to build a better future for humanity. India has become the largest economy. Educated youngsters have the responsibility to build a future nation. Dream big, aim high & work hard. Seize the opportunities, love the nature and most importantly our culture. Universities should teach in a multi-disciplinary manner. Education is for enhancement of knowledge and the degree of knowledge can be judged through its impact on the society", said the Vice President while addressing the convocation at The ICFAI University, Dehradun.

The Governor of Uttarakhand said "It is a matter of great pleasure to welcome the Hon'ble vice president to the convocation of Icfai University, Dehradun. Many congratulations to the students. Icfai is marching ahead in preparing students. Nations are built in classrooms. Role of the university is not only to provide a degree but also to prepare for the globalized world."

The Chief Minister said “It gives me great pleasure to be at this self-financing, multidisciplinary University which is a torchbearer for the advancement of knowledge, offering a number of educational programs in Management, Law, Education and Science & Technology. Uttarakhand, a state full of lofty mountains, holy rivers like Ganga and Yamuna, dense forest and greenery, is not only rich in natural beauty and resources but has tremendous potential to fulfill the need and aspirations of the people living here. Education is the most powerful instrument which can be well utilized for the economic, social and cultural growth of the state.

I am sure students of this University can also contribute to the development of this state and our nation. I believe that the students graduating today will be the torchbearers of ethics, wisdom and practical efficiency and will represent the rare combination of character, practicality, and knowledge. I wish all the graduating students, the very best in their professional career. My congratulations are also to the faculty and staff for their sustained efforts in shaping these young minds. ”
