Ms. K.S. Gita is working as the Correspondent at KSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. Her educational qualifications include BA Psychology, MA Applied Psychology, B.L., and M.Phil. She is a leading advocate and an eminent industrialist in Coimbatore and Chennai. She has evinced greater interest in the educational development and dedicated herself to the betterment of the society in various fields. She is a philanthropist and is offering free education to more than 100 students in Chennai and Coimbatore.

She is also the Chairman and Managing Trustee of J.K.Trust, K.S.G. Charitable Trust, K.S.G.Educational Trust, and J.K.College of Nursing. She is the Managing Director of the following companies: Pioneer Engineering Corporation, Pioneer Alloy Castings Ltd., Pioneer Aqua estates (India) Ltd., and PAN Resorts Ltd. She is the first woman Chairperson of ‘The Institute of Indian Foundrymen, Chennai Chapter’. She is the recipient of Jawaharlal Nehru award for the outstanding performance in studies in 1975 from madras university, International businesswoman award from USA-Chicago Tamil Sangam and Rajiv Gandhi National Excellence Award ’95’ in recognition of her outstanding entrepreneurial abilities.

Experience in the field of the education industry

My experience in the field of Education is that the place has no passion for education. Highest corruption is in this field. Corruption, demand for money for inspections to give false reports. For accreditation, all bogus details are provided, demand by politicians to supply girl students for making them happy, if we refuse, those institutions are penalized, this is what is happening in this so-called industry.

Leadership philosophy to provide quality education for backward children

For me, being the correspondent is a great responsibility. Being a gold medalist from the Madras University, education is a temple of learning for me, so we from our institution return the entire tuition fees of students who secure a university rank, in order to help the poor students to pursue higher education. Our philosophy is to help economically backward children to get a quality education. I am emotionally attached to the well being of my students.

Facing the challenge of corruption

Challenges are corruption or money demanded every small inspection by the inspectors, money demanded by political pimps. Corrupt Vice–Chancellors in most universities, we are penalized when we question or refuse to pay.

The requirement of an updated curriculum

The present curriculum in the Bharathiar University is rubbish and needs to be to be refurbished totally to help students to be updated with current best systems of education in order to get good jobs. In the name of skills, the Central government is involved in whole scale corruption.

The overall growth of the college

Our college growth is slow as we do not encourage corruption, so we get penalized by the various bodies of university/accreditation.

Being available for the students

I am on Facebook with my students, they have my cell number. Many of them co-ordinate by sending messages to me personally, some of them call me up if they have any personal problems, family problems etc.

Thoughts of an ideal school environment

The day I have enough money to provide quality education free of cost, that day I feel the environment is ideal. As of now, I am providing free IAS coaching for our college students to appear for the competitive exams as my students cannot enroll in expensive academies.

Goals for the institute

My goal is to produce the best-disciplined students who will love our nation and become good non-corrupt administrators.

Useful suggestions for the current youth

My sincere advice to students is to learn as many languages which give them a confidence, to make the best use of all facilities provided by institutions as well as the government of India. Learn good manners, respect your teachers, be grateful to your parents who have worked hard to provide this education. Please don’t forget your parents in old age and don’t put them in old age homes. Help other poor students when they are well-settled.
