You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“To formulate new ideas as per changing circumstances and learning keeps me connected with the education sector”

Being head of the institution, I have worked as a teacher. One of the key factors that keep me aligned with the education sector is learning. It is my basic priority and every generation gives new ideas as per changing circumstances.

Being the Chairman of Sant Baba Bhag Singh Memorial Girls Institutions, what is your philosophy of leadership and describe your leadership style?

“Integrity, empowerment, innovation, action and empathy are followed as a part of leadership”

I believe in teamwork with human beings imparts through good communication, integrity, empowerment, innovation, action and empath. All these are the basic elements for leadership. I emphasize self-awareness and prioritize personal development to keep focus on developing others. We encourage strategic thinking and practice effective cross-cultural communication.

What are the all courses available and How many total seats are there in the respective courses?

“BA, MCom, MA, Bsc and more courses are provided to pupils from our campus”

We provide several courses to the students in our campus. Some of these include B.A. B.Sc. in Medical and Non Medical, Fashion Designing, B.Com. and M.Sc. Mathematics. Other programs in post graduation are M.Com, M.A. in Punjabi,Hindi, English,History, Political Science, Sociology, etc.

Our college is located in a rural area having a key focus on women empowerment. Such courses have been introduced here for student to make a distinct identity at the national or international level. We provide courses in Fashion Designing, B.Sc. Medical or Non Medical, Fine Arts, Music, BCA and Commerce Management.

We have co-operative and supporting management who tried to educate the women in rural Areas. Our faculties are well trained , research oriented, experienced, dedicated and energetic. We have Supportive non-teaching and laboratory staff. Our campus gives excellent and well-maintained infrastructure in the form of new buildings. Good teaching and learning environment supported by a prolific library. All these are more like our transport facilities associated with districts.

What are the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general and Sant Baba Bhag Singh Memorial Girls College, Sukhanand specifically?

“Hectic syllabi pattern, less opportunities, and low interest for education are major challenges”

Brain drain among the students regarding the colorful life of foreign countries is a great challenge. Another one is the hectic syllabi pattern exhausts the students towards their course. Less employment opportunities lose their interest in respective education. They wished to approach the highest position as early as possible.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Keep learning, use social networks and aim for your dream”

Always keep trust in yourself and invest money or time on productive work. Keep learning with the aim of self development and self realization. Use social networks with an attentive mind.
