Rohit Kumar Admission Experience

  1. Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Rohit Kumar: It was in between Feb 2020 and March 2020, when I got a call from IMT Nagpur for the Admission Process. It was held at their Ghaziabad Campus. It was not a GD or WAT but it was GA, i.e. Group Activity. Each group was having approximately 8 to 10 people and there were 2 panelist to monitor our actions and reactions during the group activity. We were given 15 minutes to come up with an idea. As the discussion started we got many ideas as there were brilliant students and they were coming up with amazing ideas. But slowly the discussion distracted from its core idea and few of us started arguing on some points, but in few second we again we're on the track. Few people were listening to other ideas and few were trying to prove their points rights and trying to include their points in the submission. Well there were mix traits of people, some were quite aggressive, some were silent, some were trying to asking others about their view points, and some were showing their leadership skills.

  1. What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Rohit Kumar: The topic for the GA was to come up with an idea to "IMPROVE THE EXPERIENCE OF CUSTOMERS WHILE TALKING TO A CUSTOMER CARE EXECUTIVE".

  1. Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Rohit Kumar: "After half an hour of the GA, PI (Personal Interview) started. There were 2 panelists inside the room. They started with the basic question of "Tell me Something About Yourself". Then they asked me about my hobby which I mentioned in my last answer. Then Why MBA. Where do you see yourself after 5 years? There were technical questions too from my graduation background. The Interview was hardly 10 minutes long. It was a mix of normal and stressful interviews. If you are in an interview, never lie to them, just be yourself, and if you have your first question as "Tell Me Something About Yourself", then that's the point from which you can give direction to your interview. Also try to answer this question a bit differently, because I felt that interviewers were bored of listening to the same typical copy-pasted answers. Do not hesitate in accepting that you don't know something."

  1. Mention at least 5 interview questions that were asked to you and your responses to each of them.

Rohit Kumar: "Q1. Tell me something about yourself?

Ans:- Started with my name then from where I belong to, then my last educational qualification, what currently I am doing, what experience I have, and then I ended it by telling my hobbies and with a good ending note, that displays my main traits.

Q2. What do you think about the current political situation in the country?

Ans:- I am not very much happy with the current political situation in the country. Many things which need to be rectified and need change are kept untouched and politicians should take politics seriously, few of them are taking it seriously but many of them have made it as a part time profession. Government is doing some good things too, but at the end of the day few things need change which the current political eco system should do. (Tried to give a balanced answer)."

Q3. Why MBA?

Ans:- To this question I answered that, I want to learn how the things which I learned in my graduation implements in the real world, specially in the corporate world. Eg I know how to make a balance sheet, but I'm not very sure about its usage, and I believe that MBA will give the answer to this.

Q4. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

Ans:- I see myself as a research analyst in the finance department for the company I'll work for.

Q5. Some technical questions from my educational background.

Ans:- I can't recall the exact questions but most of them were related to accountancy, and my answer to most of the questions were, "Sorry sir I don't know".
