Pratiksha Singhi Admission Experience

Did you avail of the benefit of any reservation?

Pratiksha Singhi: “General (No reservation).”

Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Pratiksha Singhi: “In IMT we had a Group Activity instead of Group Discussion. The process was held offline with 12 members in the group. Each member had to contribute to the activity and the panelist was observing the candidates. The candidates were judged on their ability to work in a team and also the results of the activity presented by the members of the group. We were given 25 minutes to complete the activity and also present the results. The Pro-tip for this activity is to be calm and make sure to help others while conducting the activities.”

What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Pratiksha Singhi: “For the group activity we were given a case study which we have to solve on two chart papers given and we were also provided with various sketch pens and crayons. The presentation on the chart papers could have been pictorial or even tree structure which explains the subdivision of the Crux of the case.”

What were your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Pratiksha Singhi: “The case topic was something related to the various parts of academic subdivisions in an MBA Institute. I took the HR division explaining the pedagogy and also the loopholes which can be filled by the institute. I also explained how the HR students must be taken care of in their Summer Internship program and the cases which should be given to the students.”

Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Pratiksha Singhi: “The personal interview was held in a large room wherein the panelist was sitting at the other end of the room. I was under the panel wherein I had to panelist in which one with a faculty member and the other was an industry expert. My interview lasted for 15 minutes and it was a grilling interview. The panelists were judging me on my knowledge and also the confidence and my body language.”

Mention at least 5 interview questions that were asked to you and your responses to each of them.

Pratiksha Singhi: “The first question was to take them through my resume to which I told them about my educational background and every achievement I had made till that point to time. The second question was about why MBA to which I answered about my keen interest to get cross-functional knowledge and to work in a strategic role in the corporate world. The next question was to differentiate between selection and recruitment to which I give them straight-cut point-wise answers. The next question was a general knowledge question and the next part of my interview was based on some logical reasoning questions to which date expected only the reasoning which I give for my answer and they were not concerned about my final result for the question.”

Mention 3 reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.

Pratiksha Singhi: “The first reason is that the placement of this college is better than the colleges which are in the same level. Secondly, the flagship course for this college is marketing in which I aspired to specialize. Thirdly, the campus is a 27-acre lush green campus and the social life over there is unmatchable.”

What was the reason for you not converting other colleges? (if any)

Pratiksha Singhi: “I converted many colleges like KJ Somaiya and NMIMS Bangalore but for some, I left because IMT Nagpur was better and some I could not join because I did not have money to pay at that moment. Other colleges require fees for one year and IMT Nagpur is the only college which asks for fees for one term instead of one year.”
