Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any).

Riddhi: During my admission, there was no GD, but WAT was conducted by the college online.

The WAT was conducted on the same day as my interview was scheduled. The students who had their interviews on a particular day were given different topics at the same time. Around 20 minutes were given, and we had to write approximately 500-600 words as far as I remember.

The topics had a variety of range from global to political to sports and economics. The idea behind this WAT was to test the candidates general knowledge and awareness.

MBA aspirants are expected to know about current affairs and general knowledge about various basic topics. They are not looking for a detailed extract from you, rather your approach of handling the topics and your understanding of the same.

Pro-Tip: Keep in mind the word limit and keep yourself equipped with current happenings in the world.

Collegedunia Team: What was the WAT/GD Topic?

Riddhi: The topic given for the WAT round- Comment on India's environmental policies and the steps taken by the government in terms of sustainability.

Collegedunia Team: What was your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Riddhi: In this, I basically talked about the current happenings in India's macro environment with a special mention on PESTLE. Then after the base was set, I talked about the steps taken by the Indian government in the current times, like the banning of plastic, etc. After talking about the present, I went on to the future, and its goals in the coming years to be carbon emission free by 2050. India had recently attended a global summit in France a few days back, so I mentioned that as well.

My main idea was not to burden them with information but give limited information and back it with relevant examples.

Lastly, I finished with my views on the topic. It is advised not to have extreme views but balanced and diplomatic ones.

Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Riddhi: My panel consisted of two members, both current IMT faculties. The interview was conducted online and it lasted for around 15-20 minutes. It was definitely a stressful interview. The panellist picked up one word I said and then kept on grilling me on that.

In situations like these, they see your body language and expressions, and if you show that you're nervous, they will know it. Just remember that this is a test, and you have to pass it.

My suggestion would be, that there is no need to be nervous, just be calm on the outside, even if you're screaming on the inside. Keep an appealing smile on your face, and you'll be good to go. But don't make it very weird, you can lose the smile when there is something serious going on.

Collegedunia Team: Mention at least 5 questions that were asked in IMT Ghaziabad Interview and how you responded to each of them?

Riddhi: The series of questions that were asked during the Interview are:-

Ques 1. Tell me something about yourself?

Ans. I gave a small introduction I prepared for myself, including my interests, academic achievements, internships, etc.

Ques 2. What is the latest show you're bingeing?

Ans. I told that currently I have been binge watching Shark Tank India, as I am very interested in entrepreneurship.

Ques 3. Who is the best shark according to you?

Ans. According to me, Aman Gupta is the best shark among all, because I could connect more to him than any other, and I personally love the Boat brand and its products.

Ques 4. What do you know about Aman Gupta's journey?

Ans. Unfortunately I didn’t have much idea about his journey but gave an answer according to my understanding which I later found out that I couldn't be more wrong. But the fact that I told it with confidence helped me.

Ques 5. What do you bring to the table?

Ans. I said the best I have to this table is my ability to interact with people, curiosity, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Collegedunia Team: Mention any three reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.

Riddhi: The first reason being the Brand value and reputation of the College. The second reason being, I actually just filled two college forms i.e., XLRI and IMT, but got waitlisted for XLRI, so had IMT as the option.

And also the Institute provides students with better placement opportunities.

Collegedunia Team: What was the reason for not converting other colleges?

Riddhi: Unfortunately, I made one mistake at XLRI; I didn't take enough mock interviews before it. I may have made some wrong guesstimates in one of the questions asked by them. And was definitely more nervous compared to IMT's interview.
