The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. What are your opinions about the same?

“The indian education system is not implemented the way it should be”

India's education system is very well structured, and the problem is only in the way it is implemented. Concerning engineering education, if it is taken forward, with more practical knowledge as far as engineering education is concerned, it will serve the purpose. That is what the AICTE is also stressing on. Engineers should be given practice while they are learning. That is what is given to the students who are studying at Sudharsan Engineering College.

How does the curriculum of Sudharsan Engineering College ensure the best practice of industry?

“As far as the curriculum is concerned, it is a robust curriculum”

In Sudharsan Engineering College, whosoever studies will get exposed to the artificially intelligent platform used by many multinational corporates, and the platform's name is EBOX. In that curriculum, whatever regular courses students study will have to solve not less than 150-200 real time practical exercises differentiated in Sudharsan Engineering College.

“We want to promote more students hailing from rural backgrounds should register for engineering institutions. We want to make these students product developers for significant companies, and we should not take any more products from other countries.”

Any insights into how your university could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“We ensure no student is deprived of education at our campus”

We are giving scholarships to the deserving and the meritorious students and supporting them with all kinds of industry-leading teaching-learning and skill development. We want to support those guys and girls from rural backgrounds who have studied in government-aided and government schools. We are more than happy to welcome them on board to this college, along with a monthly stipend of 10,000/- for all the poor people studying in the college. To promote the enrolment ratio among the rural areas, we have announced that we will be sponsoring their first-year college fee who are joining in the year 2020-2021. From the second year to the final year, it is enough if they have half of the money.

Any suggestions for the aspiring students?

“Students should focus on pragmatic learning”

Students should not run behind marks or grades, which is the mistake that is being committed for the past 50 years in colleges. Marks will not serve any purpose, and there is no correlation between the marks and the understanding of the subject and the core knowledge. Nowadays, companies have gone a step further and are allowing the students who are also having fewer marks and backlogs if their practical knowledge, skills, and core knowledge are perfect. Students should focus more on their employability skills rather than scoring more marks in exams alone. So whatever mistake that we have made for the past fifty years, we should not repeat that. Students of this college are privileged to get these skills.

What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?

“There are numerous possibilities to grow once student starts to explore”

They should understand the very recent association with EBOX colleges, which have opened their chance to work with many multinational companies. Those benefits will be available to Sudharsan Engineering College. The students need not travel very long from Pudukottai as the world-class facilities are available in Sudharsan engineering college in association with Ebox colleges.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for Sudharsan Engineering College specifically?

“The herd mentality is still prevalent”

It is the misunderstanding of the students and the parents. They are very much influenced by herd culture. It is imperative to understand and explore interest arrest before taking admission. Instead of following what others are doing, they should take time and understand the factors, areas of interest to make the right decision.
