What is your leadership philosophy?

“Lessons you learn from your mistakes helps you to lead in a better way”

The philosophy which I generally follow and would suggest is that learn from your own mistakes. I don’t believe in learning from other mistakes as this can’t be applicable in all the situations of our life. So, if you want to lead, put forward your ideas and suggestions fearlessly and deal confidently with whatever hurdles come your way. One can only lead if he/she is confident about his work and knowledge which definitely comes from experience which in turn comes from making mistakes.

How do you strategize the key programs for the marketing and administration of your college?

“We utilize events as a tool to enhance our reach to a greater audience”

We organize industrial visits for students to help them in understanding how the real world looks after they go out of the campus. We also ensure their participation in projects, inter-college exhibitions and other competitions, Sports day, Environmental day, Matrabhasha Divas, Laugh day, etc. All these events and inter-college competitions are promoted on our social media handles and college website, which ultimately help us to expand our reach to more and more students.

What are your roles and responsibilities?

“To proffer good technical and ethical knowledge in them”

My main accountability towards my students is to provide them insight knowledge about the subject. Also, I teach them with the intention to create a problem-solving attitude in them. Because it's not just about the subject but about how to bring those into a person with responsibility. Coming to the responsibility for college, I do suggest a lot many things which are going around the world to include in the curriculum to keep our students updated.

What inbound a student can gain from studying here in your institute?

“We provide them with industry exposure and practical knowledge to build a strong career”

Students who are studying in our institute are well exposed to the practical applications of what they study inside the classroom through various competitions. For this purpose, we do have a project laboratory on our campus that facilitates various fabricating operations. We also encourage them to take different kinds of mini-major projects so that they can utilize their skills in a better way and can learn new things to fill those gaps. Events like seminars, motivational talks, workshops are organized for our students to help them visualize the current world outside the campus.

How does the curriculum of Sapthagiri college is aligned with the best practices of the industry?

“Our industry partners help us to draft and update it”

Our Sapthagiri college has signed MOU’s with many industries to get an overview of what exactly industry is expecting from us and hence it helps us to update our curriculum accordingly. We have adopted the concept of Open Elective for our students where they can select subjects of their own choice from another stream. Through this, we can monitor their interest areas, strengths and weakness and it helps us to plan new programs for them.

How your college is more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“We promote the diversity of our students through cultural events”

Our college welcomes all students irrespective of their religion, caste, race and economic background and provides them equal learning and growing opportunities. We do offer scholarships to all eligible students based on their merits and economic status. Institute also supports diversity by organizing various traditional activities for students.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“To bring more growth scopes for students and faculties”

As we know, slow and consistent implementation is far better than an unimplemented plan. University should start focusing on impartial practical skills along with giving theoretical knowledge to students. Also, I would suggest that every teaching faculty must be encouraged to take Internships and Projects in real-time so that they get exposed to real-time situations because ultimately this will give a boost to their teaching methodologies.

What was your vision for the university?

“To produce some good engineers by making our students capable and independent”

While joining this college, I was aspired to create globally competent engineers from students who are associated with us to make them able to contribute to society. The current pandemic situation globally has put many challenges to achieving my vision. But by the utilization of improved technology and communication, we were able to conduct regular classes. Although the experience was good, it is not as effective as offline and one-to-one teaching. Yet with a greater passion among the students, many activities pertaining to academics, non-academics were conducted in online mode and that has helped me to reach my set target during the course of time.

What makes your college unique in comparison to others?

“The acknowledgment we receive from the top organization is enough to describe us”

It is an honor for me to mention that our institution has been Accredited by NAAC with an “A-Grade” and the Departments of ME, CSE, ISE, ECE and EEE have been accredited by NBA. We have compassion towards promoting students, faculties and our staff in research, journal publications for improving their technical knowledge. All the departments under our institution have signed MOUs with leading and government-recognized institutions that provide internships and work environments to the students to enhance their employability skills.

What do you see as the greatest strengths of your college?

Our faculties and students are the soul of our institution”

Our humble and supportive management motivates all of us to improve ourselves at personal and professional levels. The unity, integrity and passion of all the facilities, students and staff members here is a great driving force for the success of this institution. And together we form a healthy relationship with each other.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general?

“Lack of foundational knowledge and consistency among students”

I would like to highest some of the issues which persist from the long term when we talk about higher education. The first and foremost challenge is that foundation of students is not that much strong, they are highly volatile and lack strong commitment towards their dream. The second challenge is consistency, students' passion and interest areas keep on changing frequently and they have become more prone towards gathering data than getting refined knowledge.

How do you establish a healthy relationship and environment in your institute?

“By promoting the culture of crystal-clear communication”

I do follow only one mantra and that is proper and transparent communication to enforce a healthy and cordial environment in my institute. Because I believe that communication thus helps understand people better removing misunderstanding and creating clarity of thoughts and expression. It also educates people. It bridges the gap between individuals and groups through the flow of information and understanding between them.
