Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Jain is the Dean Academics at the B.M. Institute of Engineering & Technology, Sonepat, Haryana. He has experience of more than 21 years in the field of education. He has completed his Engineering Post graduate degree and also has a MBA in Operation Management along with a Ph.D. He is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and a keen researcher. He has many research papers including Web of Science and Scopus Indexed Publications to his credit. He has evaluated several M.Tech Thesis from various universities of India in the field of Electrical Engineering. His research expertise includes Control System, Fuzzy Logic, Genetic Programming and IoT. He has been an organizer of various events at the university level. Along with being a responsible teacher he has handled a number of administrative assignments successfully and made exemplary contributions through his dedicated, committed and innovative approach with high integrity.
What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

The education sector today is getting evolved. With the introduction of the new education policy and heading towards Industry 4.0, it’s a challenge to prepare the young minds to meet the industry standards. The key factors that keep me connected to this sector include a passion for teaching and getting updated on the latest technology through constant learning.
What is your philosophy of leadership?
“Leading from the front and motivating staff and students towards their goal”
My Philosophy of Leadership is to under promise and over-deliver. I believe in facilitating open communication and trying to bring out the best in every student and staff. Motivating staff and students towards their goal and providing every possible guidance from my experience. I believe in teamwork and for me, every team member is important and plays a unique role.
What can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?

The Indian education system gives emphasis on providing knowledge but we lack in applying that knowledge practically. Here in our institute, we try to create a balance in theoretical and practical knowledge. Our students come from varied backgrounds and hence bring diverse views into classroom interactions, thereby elevating the learning experience. They are serious about their roles and responsibilities and are tech-savvy, giving priorities to experiential learning methodologies.

The major role is to ensure continuous improvement focussed on the students’ needs and industry requirements. To maintain a process in the institute that fulfils the needs and concerns of every department. Students are always our primary concern and I am available for them to solve their queries and to guide them be it course-related or their personnel problems.
