Being a HOD of the CSE Department, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students? 

“Encourage students to take a responsible and conscientious attitude towards their work” 

It is my responsibility to be accountable for students’ attainment, progress, and outcomes. Also, I have to understand the capabilities they possess and focus on the weak areas. I guide my students and the same is reflected via the teaching-learning process that we follow.


How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty? 

“We track and monitor students’ progress and help them in every step possible”

We as an institution work to raise standards of student progress and attainment in the curriculum. We effectively use and monitor data which helps us to track student’s progress. Also, we develop and enhance the teaching learning process by bringing industry relevant approaches. 

Additionally, we ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum for learners studying in the department, following the aims of the Institute and the curricular policies determined by the Governing Body and Principal.


What are the best practices offered by the department to the students which help them gain necessary skills?

“We ensure holistic development of the students”

Promoting students for their involvement in co-curricular activities within and outside the campus is a pivotal aspect. We do it by assigning additional credit under the able guidance of faculty. Also, we undertake industrial training and internships. The same begins for second-year students. We impart need-based training to the students to enhance employability and entrepreneurship. Conducting guest lectures, workshops and seminars is an essential element of our pedagogy.

How do you strategize the curriculum and how often it gets updated to make it befitting for the students? 

“There are many factors that we bring into picture to produce effective strategy”

We understand and assess every strategy. The support of professional learning communities establishes collaborative learning. We ensure to develop learning targets & common formative assessments. It helps to enhance and elevate students’ learning processes. Also, we have personalized learning for all students. There is a germination of continuous learning and curriculum development. The college has also launched Alumni Portal to connect with the alumni and utilize their services, like Guest Lectures, Internship opportunities, placements, etc., 


What suggestions do you have for the aspiring students?

“Students should never divert their attention from their prime objective”

Below are few best practices that every student must inculcate:

  • Stay Organized. Creating a routine and sticking to it is essential if you don't want to lose motivation.They should stop procrastinating as it hampers the effectiveness of the work.•They should look for areas of development where they can build a robust foundation. It will help them grow exponentially.

What are the challenges you faced/ are facing to uplift the quality of education of your department? 

“There is a dearth of relevant exposure of technology in the remote areas”

A prevalent challenge is that students are from an extremely remote location. They don’t have exposure to technological advancements and don’t have relevant accessories at their doorstep. Although we have urged higher authority and set up some tools to overcome these, the progress is slow.
