Dr. SK Mathur is the Principal of Aryabhatta College of Engineering and Research Center, Ajmer. He has over 19 years of experience in the teaching domain working as Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor at different renowned Engineering colleges. He has published a number of research papers in the national and international journals of repute. He has also been an active member of NAAC and NBA accreditation committees.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practice of industry?

“Expert lectures by top leaders and live projects for better skill development”

We are a professional engineering and polytechnic college. It is well known that the industry is exposed to changes every second. Thus our prime objective is to train the student according to the dynamic needs. Collaborating with local industries in the various specializations, working on live projects, and regular industrial visits help our students to bridge the gap between academia and industry. 

How do you tend to build an industry connected with your courses?

Engineering and Polytechnic are industry borne courses. We have collaboration with almost all industries of Ajmer and nearby areas. Also, we have tie-ups with specific companies with benchmark performance in their area of work. Our students opt for internships to learn the industry concepts helping them groom their technical skills in a better way.

How did you train yourself and faculty to deliver this course to the students?

“Continuous development of modern pedagogy and various FDP’s”

The most important training in the teaching profession is to keep ourselves updated with the recent industry trends and academics. I and my team focus on the upgradation of knowledge via Faculty development programs and research-based activities. 

What are the benefits of pursuing this course?

“The students with a technical knowledge have several career opportunities in different domains”

Core engineering branches like Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Computer Science are basic to any industrial development. Thus, engineering and polytechnic students have a bright future. The benefit of pursuing a technical degree is that it helps a candidate enhance the skills that are essential to make a consistent career. Be it IT, healthcare, manufacturing, every industry needs professionals with technical skills. 

What will you say the “best practices” in the courses you’re offering are?

“We are focused on industrial orientation of our students”

Industrial internships, expert lecture series, training, and live projects are organized for the students. Also, we motivate students to come up with business ideas and help them initiate their start-ups.

I would like to coney the students that sky is the limit for them. Quality technical education can give them wings to fly high and achieve their goals. Right attitude and right approach is needed to bring dreams to reality.
