BITS School of Management (BITSoM), Mumbai has collaborated with London Business School (LBS) with the goal of creating global faculty, executive education, and student immersion.
The collaboration between the BITS School of Management (BITSoM), Mumbai and London Business School (LBS) was announced by Aditya Birla Group Chairman, Kumar Mangalam Birla on May 19, 2021.
The main aim of the tie-up between the two groups is: Student immersion, LBS faculty teaching at BITSoM, and the development of Executive Programme in women leadership domain.
During the virtual event, Kumar Mangalam Birla said, “When we set out to build BITSoM, we were clear in our ambition of creating a global business school. With this partnership, we are adding a powerful new dimension—that of global exposure".
Referring to the immersion program, he further stated that the program will not only help students in understanding cross-cultural leadership but will also expose students in the field of entrepreneurial energy.
"This unique proposition of an Indian MBA with a truly global and multi-cultural flavor, curated for the new age of business, will undoubtedly raise the bar on what is considered to be a premier management education in India", he added.

BITSoM-LBS Collaboration: Key Highlights
As per the collaboration between the two partners, LBS faculty will further strengthen the relationship with BITSoM’s renowned faculty. BITSoM and LBS will further become a part of the joint executive program, with the goal of women leadership.
The key highlights of BITSoM, and London Business School (LBS) are as follows:
- Student Immersion Program: As per the collaboration, the students of BITS School of Management (BITSoM), Mumbai will now get an opportunity to participate in the two weeks student immersion program. Under this program, students will spend two weeks in London to learn from LBS faculty members.
- LBS Faculty at BITSoM: Under the Letter of Intent signed between the two partners, LBS faculty members will join BITSoM’s faculty pool, which will also strengthen the relationship between the two.
- Executive Education: BITSoM and LBS will offer a joint executive program to women, which will create, and prepare women of India in the leadership field.
Referring to the collaboration, Dr. Ranjan Banerjee, Dean, BITSoM, said, “Our aspiration is to create global leaders of tomorrow. It is not enough to understand global contexts”.
“ First-hand experience and reflection matter. Experiencing multi-cultural settings first hand, and solving problems with entrepreneurs in these settings, is the edge that the LBS experience can provide to BITSoM students” he further added.
